BLACK 2wd Sapphire Cosworth Restoration (FINISH 26/11 PICS)
Hi guys, finally started my Saff rebuild, as you can see from the pics of her now iv'e got my work cut out!! Plus as if that wasn't enough i can't bring myself to let the RST go so im keeping that too!!!
Anyway here she is an 89 2wd Sapphire cossie totally standard apart from Air filter which i put on oh yes and boost hose, nice colour i know!!!
So over the next few months im gonna make her new again, not gonna put a spec because things never end up as you planned, as long as its close to 400 bhp i'll be chuffed, Start it properly next week as im gonna remove all the interior!

Ok had a session with it yesterday and managed to strip the last of the interior out! Don't particularly like the idea of sorting through all those wires to check for wear but i'd better just grin and bear it!
Then decided to start stripping off the outside and its starting to look more and more sorry for itself! Also i'm getting a bigger picture now of how many panels are gonna need replacing!

Been keeping busy on the old girl the last couple of weeks, managed to lift the engine out
And also the gearbox.
Then i decided to have a go at removing the loom from the engine bay.
Found a Very rotten battery tray, Unusual for a Ford

Ok, iv'e finished stripping everything i can do at home, the rear and front beams will come off at the body shop as it's easier that way, Fuel tank bolts are spinning so they'll have to be ground off at bodyshop.
Well these are the last pics you'll all see before it goes to the body shop!

Ok, should have some more pics soon. Usual story been fooked about by a bodyshop, made me wait months to put it in then decides they have too much work on!
So the car is still as it was in the final pics sat on my drive, But the good news is another Bodyshop is quoting me on the job, so now that I've broke the RST for spares we can get the ball rolling again!
I have been collecting stuff to, RS500 cooler, strut braces etc!! Cheers for all the support Guys!

Ok, original bodyshop fooked me about, so now i've got someone decent on the job! I'm so behind schedule now, but i'm facing a dilema that i need advice on.
The car is a black 2wd saff on the log book and you couldn't get them in black unless you ordered them specially, but with the amount of parts i'm gonna replace the bodyshop owner has suggested i reshell it with another cossie. I think this defeats the point in what i was planning!!!
so far i'm gonna be replacing
-Both body sides
-Rear panel
-Both front wings
-Front cross member
-Rear chassis legs
-Doors
-Bootlid
It's going in next saturday, suggestions please!

Well this is the reason i asked my previous question, took the rear beam off today as the car is being transported to the bodyshop on Saturday for the first stage of bodywork, and this is what i didn't want to see, Rotten chassis rails!!!!
The O/S rail isn't quite as bad as the N/S
See what I mean?
