Default mk6 Escort GTi Turbo, breaking soon.... :(

now ive got some webspace sorted thought id pop in ere n show ya what my spare time is occupied with

trying to convert the original 1.8 zetec into a turbo, so far we have the lump done, spec is 1.8, rebored with accralite pistons, lightened and balanced crank, L+B flywheel etc, stage 1 head, 130 spec cams, T3 turbo on S2 manifold and fez turbo EFI inlet.

going for OFAB managemnent as we felt it wud be easiest to do, not sure now lol

not got too far but heres a few pics of where we r at starting from the beginning

enjoy

the old lump coming out

initial build after engineering work

the lump back in ready to start the joys of wiring

noticed you drilled the exhaust side of the head to allow the cvh manifold to bolt to the zetec head, did you also drill the head for the frst inlet manifold or use a spacer plate?

looking good by the way keep us posted

sweet

I'm still sourcing parts for mine, got the engine, management, tubular manifold, brakes and wheels, hopefully have the rods and pistons soon, just need the cooler, rad, turbo, gearbox, clutch, cams....

where did you get your pistons from... armed recommend me to use the calibra turbo pistons, but i've been put off by the price, been looking at the focus central pistons and rods.. they look guide..

Alot of people are using stress relieved rods but where do you get it done and how much do they cost???
Also so who re-maps the fezzy management and how much does that cost ??
problem is up here in the north east, theres no one doing anything remotely like this ......................... i mean you get the odd knacker that breaks the odd rs but thats about it, theres a few rolling roads but no one that can re-program your chip at the drop of a hat the closest one i can think of is well-lane turbo - centre but there still not that close really.

p.s. your inlet looks the dogs knackers mista, very individual

for the stress relieving it was done with all the engineering so ive no idea on cist but id imagine any competent engine builder/engineer should be able to do it

no idea on cost for the management as it depends exactly what you want, i guess motorsport developments is nearest to you for that stuff in blackpool.

cheers for the inlet comment, cant really take credit for it, one mate sed... 'i know what will look the tits... ill get it done' then his mate (rich_frst) did it well chuffed with it
