My 3dr Upgrades - Major update 17/4 - Graphics are on!!
Thought I would make a start about my 3dr and its planned updates.
I bought the car of Pete, aka, STAFFI around 18 months ago. Pete had spent a few quid with NMS getting the engine the way he wanted.
I was looking for a white 3dr so I made him an offer at Combe 07 and bought the car not long after. I had to twist his arm, but got it in the end.
Car stayed the way I bought it for 8 months until I bought a new house with a garage. Now the work can slowly start.
I binned the ‘dark’ look and changed back to ambers with RS500 grills to fit into the genuine 500 bumper. some cheap rear lights from e-bay.
Also fitted an RS500 rear lower spoiler which Pete supplied with the car. Was a bit disappointed with the look with the grills, so I painted the inside black.
Before
After
Next thing to be done was the suspension, it was running standard spec Bilstiens which were past there sell by date. A few of my fellow Hampshire Grp mates helped out fitting the Koni shocks and Ahmed spec fast Road springs.
After a session on track at Ford Fair, two things were clear………
So a plan was formed for the winter….It would be primarily a road car but all the relevant bits to do quite a few track days.
A list was made.
Big Brakes, which would mean I would need new wheels, bucket seats and harnesses. The car also had a mix and match of gauges and blue dials, so this was a good excuse to update the interior.
Blue covers off and white GGR on.
Pain in the arse to get off
Found these Cobra GT seats for sale on Stu’s forum, made a call struck a deal and picked them up a few days later. Believed to be from a Rally car.

- I wanted more track action
- The car needed some changes

Thread was to big, so here is the rest so far.......
I sold my BBS to a guy in Australia, and after much deliberation I opted for Revolution Millenniums. 7.5 x 17 on the front and 8 x 17 in on the rears with Yoko Parada.
Wheels only come in white, so they were sent of to be powder coated in Anthracite.
This weekends task was removing the old cracked dash to be replaced with a new saphire dash.
Out with the old
Current state
Found some right dodgy wiring
Sorry its bit long
More updates to follow as more bits hopefully arrive and I get ready for Central Day

the best bit so far is the 'warning lights' plug was hacked off to make way for the various gauge wiring
All good fun

Thanks for all the comments
Brammer - My arches have been trimmed mate, I dont expect any rubbing but I have yet to drive it with the new wheels on. Will tax it in April. My fronts are et 35 so should be ok.
COLEYST200 - Sorry mate, seats and other bits will be going up the loft for now. Thanks for the offer though
Sorted out all the wiring now, I had lost the interior and dash lights for a while there After a bit of searching it turned out to be the drivers side, side light fuse had blown!!!!!!
All ready to go now for the top dash fitment at the weekend. Garage is not big enough and its pissing down!!
Will be finishing off the new gauges and my afr meter this week. Will post pics later.
Still waiting for Tony to sort my big brake kit

Few Updates....
Been to wet this week to get the car out the garage to finish the dash, so I have been cracking on with the new guages.
Fitted the ACT guage in the dash surround.
Due to one of the previous owners chopping of the clock and warnings plug , and also removing the door and light module, there was a spare slot going for my AFR Wideband unit. Made up a panel for it along with a switch for the engines fans.
All painted and ready to go
Moved on to my new Autometer guages, got some angle inserts to be a bit different.
Hopefully I will get the dash in over the weekend
Also got some good news from Tony, my brakes are on the way....

Gauge's and AFR are fitted. Not sure on the flocked surround, will wait til the flocked steering cowl and new wheel is fitted before deciding.
Brakes are here Big thanks to Tony for sorting me out witha few extras and a great dealHighly recommended.
Hopefully get fitted next week, as long as the rain stays off.
Couple of other bits waiting to get fitted
Thats it for now.
Thanks
