beutiful car, my fave ford but i must admit them wheels as nice as they are dont suit it imo, it needs smaller older design

 

 

Been changing a few bits over the last couple of weeks trying to get most of the exterior done before the Cumbria show then the engine side of things before the end of May now i've manged to get 650 miles on the new engine.

I was going down the RS500 rep route and purchased a lower rear spoiler and fog grills but that has been scrapped and now the car is being treated to an array of new standard parts including a set of Apex -35mm on Koni struts to replace the standard ride height,wheels & dealership plates.

Next jobs are get all the plastics repainted, fit the new indicators and lights all round, refit the standard front splitter and side mouldings.

New spotless wheels and tyres added

I know what you mean Paul i was never 100% happy with it when i picked it up as i prefer the standard car, side moulding and new lights all round should sort the exterior looks out

Right now the Fiesta has gone to a new home and i have the time to concentrate on the 3dr now ready for the Cumbria regional show on the 11th May ....

The car is booked into the bodyshop for monday to have all the plastics repainted, the front end up the A-pillars, engine bay, bonnet then Fit the side mouldings and pin stripe

Are you still using the new Escort Cos cam belt cover now you're going standard
as I'm looking for one

 

Under the bonnet isn't going to be standard now, i'm going to keep hold of this cover mate.

 

Will be mint when done (not that its not now )

 

Dont put the pinstrip on! Wont look good IMO

Other than that fair play

 

leave it without the side mouldings.. and I liked it better with the comps on it.. looks tougher but if you want a standard look..

 

have you already bought your AP clutch as i have a 1500 miles old complete AP 6 paddle setup with skimmed 4x4 flywheel in my shed

Bodyshop Update time

Here we go again, another car in the bodyshop and a few tears at it being ripped apart but it'll be mint when finished

It looks like the whole car is having a respray now not just the plastics.

Rust issues are very minimal which is good, a small bit under the airbox and a bit at the bottom of the rear passenger arch.

No mate, after being scared to death to drive my old S1 i said i was never going to do an underside resto to the cossie as it's here to use.

Look at what we've done today

Engine bay work, a couple of areas on the inner wings needed sorting





Area of concern on the passenger wing, this has had a previous repair which was built up with fibreglass so all that has been removed and a piece welded in and a sheet of metal welded from underneath and red oxide applied.




And the arse end

Well I'm hoping for it to be ready It's getting the rear end of the car prepared and primed tomorrow so i'm hoping it's done really for the middle of next week. It's the plastics that are going to need quite a bit of time to prepare but I'll be cutting it closely. Are you a member of our local group?

 

No I am not at the min, I have just joined the RSOC as a member though.
My dad was a member for about 15 years with cumbria group, might join some time in summer?? where are the local meetings nowadays? kendal?

I forgot i got this through the post today, £47 off ebay and it's build quality is similar to the bailey turbo damper that costs 3 times that so i'm made up and a free set of stainless cam cover bolts ooh:
