Why you wish to rew it like honda?
I don't rew mine past 6300 (that's the point where I shift) and I do run now 12.48 quarter with that on 20 psi of boost

Out of interest, I was speaking to someone the other day who has seen various issues with MS and a ~5500rpm unknown limit coming into play.... I'll try and remind myself what it was.

I had a chat and the cause is unknown, but he 'thinks' it may only be affecting those using TFI. The symptoms are after about 5700rpm, the ignition gets heavily retarded to the point of acting like a rev limiter..

He Gregor,

Is the car running better since EFE? I'm going to start to work with megasquirt in a few weeks. Can't wait
How are things going with your oilcooler? Mines in place, but still looking for a good routing from the hoses. is yours allready hooked up?

Good luck with megasquirt

cheers

Hejj

Car was Running ok but couldn't get any traction.
That was my main problem.
I'll be watching your thread as you'll get along with your MS.

The oilcooiler works ok, had it on at EFE so you could have a look there.
The routing of the hoses is a pain in the ass.
Mine run right beside the crack poullie with some tywraps..

May be you've got a cleaner looking idea.

Cheers

Gregor

I forgot to say, i won't be working with MS on my car. But i will on a other project. won't use a other MMS on my car. Will be for the next project. I also had the idea to rout the hoses beside the crack pully, but i think it's to dangerous. Tomorrow i'm going to look for a other option. I will let you know when i find something

Well finally got some new parts for the rs and been working on it a little.

Had the 16 valve had skimmed, removed the valvesprings so the springs from area-six can go in.
Been to the ford dealer to get some headbolts, cambolts, gaskets, oilseals etc.
Found some baily stuf on the net and bought a swirlpot, oil seperator tank and header tank

Also as i'll be using a rover inlet i made an adaptorplate to make it fit the zetec head.

end feed never as gooed as centre one??? zero loss from area-six/fiesta frenzy are sidefeed....up to 500 bhp
been told the centre zetec can do about 300 and the rover about 360 .
Plus i can make a home made toppart later for this one when i want as it's a 2 piece.

Other than that, it looks a lot better than the charge pipe running across the head of a zetec imo.

Other than what greggie says. Where did you see the tests that the side feed is not as good? Think before you shout something. It will work fine. There are a lot of side feed high bhp cars around. And not just fords.

I wonder how it distributes airflow evenly? I see no chance for that. Other then that ofcource it will run, but in my oppinion all is in details I'd go for center one anytime.

Your probably right about the even distribution, although it won't be a very big difference but the centre one just can't flow enough at a certain point.
plus it looks cleaner imo.

As i'm using a rover manifold and an rst TB i had to make the idlevalve fit somewhere as the vale on the rover is fitted in the TB and the ford in the manifold.

Tapped and drilled the holes

idle valve fitted, have to make al little spacer to get some clearance.

Testfitting fuelrail and injectors

Also making an adaptor plate to make the TB fit the Manifold, working on that some more tomorrow at work.

Manifold fitted.

Looking like this for now, Just what's needed is a fresh paint for the manifold .

And you can't use original zetec pump and tensioners? Or that's what you are about to use?

Well... did something again... as i haven't got a garage and the weather isn't all that it's not going so fast

I did however swapped the ex. housing on my Turbo for a cossie one so i can run a tubular manifol.

Was gonna weld my own out of mild steel but thanks to my mate JeroentjeRS got hold of a stainles steel one for verry cheap.

Also drilled out the oil returns wich were plugged of for the ZVH conversion and removed the waterpump.

Also made a bracket for the actuator but not sure it's going to fit.
I\It might hit the gearbox but we'll se when i get the manifold here.

Heard the rods were send off so can start rebuilding the engine soon

Some pics
