Well finally got the steel rods home today so can start building again.
Thanks to Jeroentje ( Mr.T ) for supplying them.

with some ARP bolts ofcourse.

Got the old ones out already.

Have to skim the pistons a little to get a good CR.

Also put on the waterpump.

Hope I can make some more progress then the last months..

Looking good mate, were the crowns of the pistons thick enough?
The exhaust manifold hasn't been done yet btw, the current welds were way too dirty to reweld. Also the collector tube is pushed in a few cm which will fuck up your exhaust gas flow.
Think the best way to go is redo it when it's bolted to the engine...

Hej mate,

Can machine 1 mm more off them and with the thicker gasket i'm coming to a 8.35:1 CR.. good enough.

We'll redo the manifold then when engine is built up..

Ok, ok , little update

machined the pistons off to the minimum crown thickness.

Attached the rods

In the block along with the 1.8 mm headgasket
Also painted the block black again

tightend the rod ends

installed the head

making the downpipe

Testfitting the manifold and turbo

Started fitting some hoses and bailey stuf.
Timed in the cams and mouted the alternator.

Got it from a mate of mine who works at a ford garage..

Supposed to be a ford gasket for engines that have been skimmed to much.

P.S. as I look at you exhaust I think the liambda will be at the wrong angle. Like that it will get humidity and will be fucked

hi mate i take it by standard internal your on about valves etc in the head itself , around 220/250bhp before you have valve lift problems , with uprated valve springs easily genuine 300/330 at around 20 psi depending what inlet etc you run

A little update on my zetec turbo RST.
i didn't plan on taking the engine appart but when i saw dirt in the oil i removed the cams and saw they were damaged due to what i think is sand in my engine :'(

To be sure also removed the rods from the crank and also a lot of deepscratches here,
So decided to get me another set of head, cams and crank.
While i had the head of worked on the new head a little.

Also received my new gt2871 turbo and wastegate an acl bearings.

Hope to put all the goods together ones again soon

Yes a little bit.... Engine has been completely stripped and put another crankshaft in with new acl main and big end bearings.
Head is all built and ready to be fitted.

Exhaust manifold is 80 % welded.
Engine should be back in end of this week.

Also bought some bucket seats to go in.
Will put some pictures up soon.
