At last a bit of an update. We have decided to drop the engine in and added some more to the cage. So easy to get to the engine with the back end taken off. had a bit of a play with he gear stick and thats going to be a problem the cables seem to be to short for where we want the gear stick to be mounted.

Looks a cool little project. I like the flip rear idea!! A friend of mine has an MR2 turbo and has nothing but trouble with it... However, it is running high power, so it's to be expected...
Looking forward to seeing progress!

Quality project you have on the go there A few years back i had a s/c saxo vts running 200+ bhp and that was a handful so this is going to be mental...good luck.

and making a start on the firewall.

Nice project, I was thinking along the lines of front engine zetec with live axle under the back in a Saxo BUT, don't want to piss on anybody's chips but what are the plans for DVLA and IVA?? Any mods to the shell require this I believe.

Yes I'll probably have to get it SVA'd I won't be looking forward to that but will have to be done.
The tank was bought from a boat dealer but found them on ebay as well in all sorts of sizes.
Not a lot has gone on with it recently. Made a rear strut brace, tanks mounted properly now and the flange for the tank has been machinned just got to work out how to get the sender and pump unit mounted to it. Made room for the MR2 rad so just need to mount it next. I'll hopefully get some work done next week now as I have some time of work. I'll get some more pics then.

Well its not finished but progress is slow although looking at some of the pics on this thread then I should give a little update.
The clutch looks like its working now but havent started the engine in situ and the clutch pipe needs to be p clipped tidily. I was a little lazy with the solution so will be interesting to see if it works as I'm using the saxo cltuch cable to pull the master cylinder as the MR2 clutch is hydraulic. It was also a nightmare to bleed.
The gear cables have been sorted and the gear change feel pretty good but this took a bit of work as I needed longer than std cables and the 1st attempt bent one of the cables and had to use a larger cable.
The fuel pump and sender are all mounted but need the filler neck needs welding to the plate that has been machinned to go on the top of the plastic fuel tank.
Nearly finished the brake pipes and have all the parts required to finish this.
Next job after that is to try and sort the handbrake cable and run the fuels pipes from the front of the car to the rear.
I'll post some pics up of the jobs I have done shortly.

Lol in a word Nope. Not really touched it for a while. Kind of lost motivation at the moment. I've even been thinking about to selling it cause of the lack of progress I've made with it but it doesn't cost me anything to keep it in the garage just need to get back into the habit of spending some time on it.
