Awesome!!! I used to build Supercharged Saxo's and love the engine bay in this. If only I could find a Saxo here in New Zealand.......
Nice car, like the MR2 Idea, I had plans to build a mid engined Saxo/106 years ago but I was going to make it properly mid engined with a transxle from a Subaru or VW/Audi and have engine running north/south, but then I fucked off to the other side of the world..........

I haven't registered on saxperience but will have to have a look. Saxodaffys looks impressive and I bet it flies along with that sort of power. I am going to be aiming for 300bhp to start with but will probably start to look for more once the car is on the road. Just right now I am just going to concentrate on the fab work etc as theres still loads to do.

yeh his car does fly a long , its surprising how much traction he gets in such a little car.
any way sorry to bring someone elses car into your project.

Heh, funny to see other people doing the same thing at least im not alone, progress coming along well ...
and funnily enough, the guy who made the yaris inspired me to take my visions further...
Had the dream of doing an mr2 turbo in something... and had my mini estate lying around... then on a flight to america i got a mag from gatwick which happened to have the yaris on the cover...
and from then onwards, i've been making a lil project.. and heading for a 450bhp rwd mini estate
web site needs a lot of work yet as havnt had time, but i own : http://www.mr2mini.co.uk
and a thread following the progress is on turbosport...
http://www.turbosport.co.uk/showthread.php?p=1482484
(not kidnappin thread, just thought id say hello after you posted on the mr2 owners much like i did when i started )
-> aiming for my body work to be complete in a few months, arches being built at the mo...
should be on the road early next year after many thousands, lol

rear frame nearly in.
I don't think it'll handle that bad once the right spring poundages have been fitted found. The wheelbase length isnt that different from a MR2 either so its not like its that short.
wheel base
Saxo - 2385mm
MR2 Turbo - 2400mm (so only 1.5cm longer than Saxo)
911 GT3 - 2355mm
Exige - 2300mm
Caterham R500 - 2225mm
TVR Tuscan - 2361mm

Well after some thought it was decided to make the back end flip up like the 205 T16's. Should make working on it a little easier lol. Heres the progress so far.
