Cheers lads, no danger of any pikey on this car, that's just for the van lol
Well as everything that's beign bolted back on the car this time I hope not to remove again, I decided the ZOO arms needed refurbing also.
The rod end bearings, one is seized so replacing them, but then removing them seemed to be a nightmar also...
Another trip to Ians to use his gas and feckin big spanners lol and theyre removed, the ajustable sleve was seized solid.
Thanks Ian bud.
Here he is driving the focos backwards with no seat lol
Rex, posing -
Ordered all new baring off of eGay.
Also popped into Bara's yesterday to borrow his hydraulic bearing press lol, removed all engine mounts from casings and also front hub bearings, will clean up hubs and bearings and fit all new after Christmas break.

Nothing to update atm but have 19th May booked in with my mate Sam to so some modifications to engine bay and get dummy engine back in to fit my dry sump scavenger pump.
But seeing as I have GrpA mounts fitted and rear gear box is vibratech, the only OEM bush left on car no one makes, so made my own.

Long day up at the unit today!
This was 7 am
Me and Sam spent all day on L2.
Sam worked his arse off welding for me, proper graft today as got dummy engine in and out a few times to line up for chassis mod and get dry sump fitted with scavenger pump etc...
Some pic's...
Also found time to fit Tom's car in for some new inlet gaskets, this is Tom doing what is very rare, actually working on his car as I made him clean the inlet face of head off lol
next up alternator fitment and brackets but Simons coming to aid with that in a couple of weeks as he ran the set up in Blue Oval for a couple of seasons and worked well.

Gona run a helix one Jon, a pal of mine runs 250bhp through his n/a and had no issues also another mate runs 305bhp through his Turbo and had no issues, both RS2K's.
So hoping I'll have non either mate lol

Started on my engine build today, was a nice moment to work on my own engine for a change.
Some pictures -
Had a couple of choices with rods but decided to go with ARROW as they proven and tested, the IKE ones look a good bit of kit and measure up true but went for ARROW's.
Had to then re-tap the crank to hold timing trigger wheel as it was fitted standard with punch fittings which can no longer get. Scary moment with crank being nice and finished lol ALD L&B Knife Edged Crank.
Pistons
Only managed to fit 1 & 4 before leaving it for today as was doing loads up the units too.
gave the BARA Motorsport / Quaife MTX75 a quick paint up too -
And the GrpA and custom mounts got a quick blow over too -
Back on it tomorrow but... was hoping to fit this week, but TTV are dragging their feet with my billet fly wheel, was paid for and they had check start of last week, they haven't cashed it nor have they replied to email and they haven't a contact phone number for public to call, so, I am stuck waiting for that to arrive

Nice mate, I believed the standard ring gear was prone to breaking up/off and getting wrapped around he crank around 8500 on the f2 engines didn't you fancy doing a trigger wheeled front pulley?
#1109
I've not seen one let go at 8500 yet mate and seen a good few now.
I would love to have external trigger wheel incorporated into pulley mate but I have been spending months trying to get a standard billet pullet made and still not got one yet, getting a trigger incorporated into it would be a ball ache.

All rods and pistons now in, only first torque on the rod bolts as not 100% satisfied they wont have to be undone again yet lol
Started refurbing my dry sump today as its internal pan had a hard life in its last racing series, the previous owner had a couple of engines go bang that I know of and even though it was removed from a working engine, it was full of swarf
Any way, looking good now -
Also still working on the bulk head, not much more to do -
More tomorrow.

Not much done today as I'm not felling to well but my mate Si popped up with an alternator and brackets to run along side dry sump set up, not the best brackets but saves me days and says of measuring and calculating to figure out a set up.
Excuse the pics looking little dirty etc as these are only mock up parts etc, have all beed removed now for new bits to be sorted.
Didn't get a pic with alt on.
Also dropped off blanking plugs for breather and dip stick holes, ill see if these clean up on lathe if not ill run some new ones up.
I have decided not to use any bolts on this and replace all for cap heads, they just look nicer lol
Ive got to buy these now too -
-8 out let from scavenger pump.
-10 return from tank into engine pick up area.
May go back tomorrow and do some more on engine, depends how I feel cause atm I am a bit rough.

few people asked me for pics of the cooler location I am using, this should be fine on the front cross member.
Started to figure out my dry engine build also as with timing chains it isn't a case of dry build up with chain as you'll just waist a load of tensioners or need to rest um a lot.
I have measured and identified how much tension the chain needs to allow me to place dummy tensioner in and tension chain for timing on a dry build, been years since I timed up adjustable pulleys and doing so on a 16V with natural chain slack between inlet and outlet cam doesn't make it any easier.
Can not find my bottom pulley timing wheel any where, I know there only a few quid but there isn't any on eBay, gob smacked.

Plenty of scope for adjusting the cam timing on the dyno with those valve cut outs
