Some insperation for me today, one of my engines sprung to life on a 200+BHP base map.
This is Kierons 2.3 fully worked engine block, good spec.

quite a lot of money for a fibreglass moulding! Could make it for less out of carbon if i had the mould
I cant see a water drain on that inner vent. You WILL need one unless you want to be dripped on in rain or worse get a soaking on a corner when the settled water sloshes over the vent and onto you

Massive thanks to Sam and also Kane who came along today to get mt GrpA mounts in and fit dummy engie into bay.
Sam doesnt mess about with a welder and was in in no time at all.
Pic's...
Im amazed at the amount of room inthe bay now.
So I test fittd y inlet, t/b's and also outlet exhaust manifold, look wicked imo lol
Mile stone reached!!! I higged Sam and kane when it went in lol buzzin that I can now move on and start preping engine bay and get my engine in there as soon as possible!!!
More soon.

Cheers Chris, not sure when it'll be running mate lol
At least now I can concentrate in doing specific thing to engine and bay where some times before when I had spare time to work on it I was unable to as I was always waiting for the engine to be in situ.
Massive to do list now...
Figure out what header tank/pas tank to use and where
Manifold to be modified to clear sump
Exhaust to be made as the maxi one I have is going to be to restrictive
Finish my peddal box and plumb in breaks
Fit my AP's front
Decide on rear callipers
Fit rear beam and purchase rear ARB
Fit highdrolic clutch, slave etc
Purchase clutch and Omex
Thats just a small list lol loads to do but I will crack on with it.

Well not a lot but I have started fettling with vents and scoops.
Firstly the Maxi bonnet vent, it comes from the mould looking like it should fit from benieth the bonnet but after fitting one on Tony's we aren't happy with this so I have started another route of fitment.
Heres how it arrives...
After ten minutes on my belt sander...
Plan of action included, liquid metal and 4mm screws lol
Flatted off head so can not spin in liquid metal...
And, da darrr...
Got to get myself some etch primer so I can start on the roof vent tomorrow and get all painted up and then go for fitting, which means chopping big holes in the bonnet and roof

Bit gutted as I would of painted um all last night and gone and chopped holes today.
Can't fit tomorrow either as I think I am taking a friend to London to buy a new track car/toy.

All done now, roof vent was a pain in the arse as paint seemed to react, rubbed back and re-did it, will be OK for now, will be done again when L2 gets blown over in the future.
haven't got to give my friend a lift tomorrow now so I'll go up unit and fit me bits!

I didn't manage to get both done today as with doing other stuff too but I did get the roof vent in.
Started marking up for both to be fitted...
Hit a little location issue with the inner vent due to roll cage cross bar...
But then sorted a way around this...
Fitted...
Currently fitted with cap head bolts, I will either be fitting black rivet nuts when I get some or i'll leave as it is and remove the eccess bolt inside and fit rubber cover to stop helmet scraching etc
Hopefully go back tomorrow and fit bonnet vent.

Well I did it, I chopped a big hole in the bonnet lol
Good job I had a spare vent to hand as with the bolts already in mine it was hard to line up.
Also chopped another little hole so I can now use a bonnet stay!
Bonnet vent fitted..
The money shot...
Sits above the manifold so should remove some heat soak...
Chuffed to bits with it!

Few more things done today, I have removed my dummy engine now as no need for it to be in there any more.
As today Sam mocked up a new engine mount bracket for me, ignore the old rubber mount pictured as that's mock up as well, I have a vibratech one to press into that casting.
Also only tacked together as Sam will be tig welding it.
Ready to be Tig'd.
Also as Simon pointed out, I haven't a drain pipe from my roof vent, I knew this lol Here's what me and Sam came up with on the laithe whilst messing about macking a dump valve bumg also for a mate scooby.

Good progress!!
you might want to also fit some fine mesh/gauze or cheap air filter foam to damp down spray and prevent foriegn objects getting in cabin.
A prime example is following someone on track whose just hit the grass or gone off. The dust cloud can be bad enough, last thing you want is dust filling the cabin!!
Also in the rain, by damping down the spray means you wont get much water collection on the vent tops on the inner. Otherwise even with the vents closed and a drain tube, you get a fair bit of water build up that would leak through the vent gaps and drip occasionally.
Also how is the modified dash surround doing?

Great idea for the sponge mate wouldn't have thought of that at all! will put some in.
No progress on the dash facia, I was planning on working on it this week of an evening as I start a new job on Monday and may well need some escapisum of an evening lol
You'll be the first to know wants it's done mate.

When i make my carbon roof im designing a vent for mine. Similar to everything else out there but curved to puma roof. Also i intend to have fans in mine. You can get some slimline waterproof silent computer fans these days with a good volume air flow. Fit it above the eyeball vents and have forced airflow even at slow speeds.
Learnt the hard way with the last stripped out car how hot they can get so a few hundred grams in the roof to give a bit of air flow is well worth it IMO.
