he was saying the box had taken the hit as the starter parts of the casing had been welded , but box done around 1500 miles in my car and only prob was a bearing which i believe to be the layshaft. i loved the noise yet hated the ratios lol.

The 6 speed won't be nicer on the Mway - that's why i avoided it - have u checked the ratios? 6th gear is lower geared than the RST 5th...

The other reason being rick is mtx will require the chassis rail cut which I'd loose a lot as I only have 3mm with a ib5 due to being and early 4 spd

i only have the bracket there for the servo as i went to fit it once but turned out to be in the way so went back to the origional set up of having the master on the drivers side (standard ford) it came with early basic mk3's and didnt run a servo

right, quick update: just popped down the garage and made up the rear gearbox mount/stabaliser, was a bit of a pain up the arse tbh as couldnt get the welder in there easy to spot it and was just making use of what metal i had left lol. will get some pics up later (after my kfc has arrived, been eaten and then sprayed mount etc)

top mount with tube welded in, threaded and bolted up:
rear mount welded up to existing mk3 mount, was akward shape so just used some old bits of plate/bar lol:
mount bolted in and gearbox properly mounted :
next stage is to crack on plumbing in the hydraulic clutch once i get the fittings etc then off to have driveshafts made. sadly money tends to affect things as i need new block bored etc due to the 2 piece shaft
