got out today and decided to pull my finger out and do something to the car...... so i decided to make a start on my pedal box by adding the hydrualic clutch master to it, sorting a spring for the return and a pedal stop. ive also put a couple of photos of my mates and my £330 e36 32 track car, we've stripped it out and just started kiling a bit of surface rust on rear arch today and hopefully have it out soon once it has a new battery on it along with some rear lights lol.

Have you tried putting that pedal box into position? Mine was exactly like yours using a Focus master cylinder, and the pipe outlets foul the steering column. They come out at a the wrong angle really, so looking into a an alternative.

i have briefly tried it and all looked well thankfully. did you lower the master on the pedal box by welding on a tab? it does come out at a slightly off angle but ive spoke to someone about getting braided lines made to fit to it

Yea, we even made the pedal box slightlu narrower, but it was just too close for comfort. The MK6 fiesta cylinder looks interesting, should give a lot more room, take a look:

I'm 90% sure all ford clutch master cylinders are the same size. The ST170 and MTX boxed cars are the same, as are the focus IB5's. Fiesta uses the IB5 too, so should be the same too.

well today at aroung 5pm i could finally make a start on trying to get the box in as i eventually found some box section as i didnt think i would on a sunday (good old wickes) lol. so i got a new engine, head off and used this to dummy up with box, fitted mount and offered all up, levelled and centered etc and started cutting the box section to how i want it. I hadnt really tried mig welding before as i alwasy arc weld so clarke tuirned up and aved me and showed me how it was done and took on the welding contract lol.
my chief welder:
first stage:
welds cleaned up:
will get some more box section and put a few more braces in. i also think i had a prob i havnt seen people have yet being and early mk with different chassis rail as was very tight with 5 speed having around 3mm clearance. The engine mount had to be trimmed to get it in lol.

I don't personally see it being anytime soon sadly. Looks like ill be needing electronic speedo which I need to look into. Finish doing the clutch setup (flywheel and clutch are 800) going to build new bottom end so I can run the 2 piece drive shaft so may well raise the comp and save for a gt30 and het 3“ exhaust system too lol
