Marks retired & the car is now beyond my capability, so maybe a proper pro driver, we shall see, its about the car not my ego or my limited drivin ability, everone thinks they can max out a car down Brunters, but I know their aint many that actually can.

So... your paying some1 else to build a car for another person to drive?

How can you justify that? I mean, you can't really call the car yours?

I could see why a company would build a car for some1 else to drive to prove it's ability.

Or why an individual would pay a company to build a car for them to drive.

I need to justify nothing to you or anyone else, its my car & its used how I want. Ive exceeded 200mph in it & thats the only target ive set myself, in fact 4 of the 10 fastest times in a Cossie are with me driving, remember the speeds being attempted are on a different planet to what others have achieved, it will be passed 200 at the mile.
Ive done 50k miles in it so its mine buddy not yours or anybody elses, very few miles are done at Brunters very few the main thing about my car is its still a road car, cant drive at 200mph on the road.
The aim is to see how fast a Cossie can be made to go in 1.5miles nothing else.
I probably capable of doing a 208 run no more its too scary beyond that. Mark did 210 & said he wont try that again, Power wise theirs a 215 in the car & thats the aim, if that takes a Pro to achieve then so be it.

Kev has been asked he said he simply could not do it, late braking from 150 is vastly different to braking from 210+ when chasing records.

Dingy is a proper Motorsport person, hes my No. 1 choice .

No progress on build to report before I leave for Canada in the morning.

However a telephone call today from a major international player could send the publicity for my car/MAD into orbit. Cant say a lot yet cos I need a finished car for what they have in mind. Im shocked that they had been monitoring my site before contacting me, im rather chuffed.

I have to beat a what, surely your kidding .

How about you let Martin drive it? He's done 200mph in his own Cosworth, so he's more than capable.

I know of two decent racing drivers, one ex A1GP, GT, and F3, the other WRC and much more, both would happily do the record attempt for the fun/publicity of it as long as they in the country at the time.

Both experienced at 200mph+ too.

TBH tho Rod, you clearly have the balls as youve been at round about that speed, I reckon you could go for it yourself

Good luck Rod, it is a whole different ball game at 205mph plus. It simply does not do it for me, a sub 50sec lap at Brands does so I guess it's horses for courses as they say.

Were all mad as frogs anyway

Hi
Arrived back from Canada today & dont have a lot to add just a few more details. Have been approached by Toyo tyres & a publishing company cant think of their name but think EVO is one of their publications they want a Video of the car pitted against a Veyron & a Caparo T1 which would be covered world wide in half a dozen mags & the vid to do the same.
They wanted 2 proper road cars that aint stripped or tarted up & I believe a Supercharged Viper has been asked as well ( Ive assumed thats Joel English so im in trouble straight away )
Can we beat them, well it will be very tough as its over a standing mile not 1.5miles which I favour. If the Veyron is standard it did 204.2 in a recent R&T test , Joel did 203.9 at totb I think so this is a real challenge. Other cars will run but I think we are expect to at least run them close.
They have given Mark a date so its now down to Mark/Me to get a car to the start line, at present my car sits under a big pile of parts & has not been moved in 2.5years so its a big recommissioning task.
Wont give a date as its a tight schedule & may come to nowt.

wow!!!
Went to Marks today & agreed a timescale to get the car completed. We also finally agreed a Spec for the engine, wont say too much at the mo but its something he had asked me to try & I thought the last engine was enough Horses but things have moved on since last year so im going with his ideas.
Im going to fit a dummy engine first so that new exhaust mods/heatshields can be fabricated this starts on Saturday also have to move the Brake reservoire to make room for the new manifold/Wastegate. Tank also got to come out so will get that done as well.
Engine due on Dyno w/e 11th July & in the car shortly afterwards, its finally going to happen after a long rest.

Few twists & turns on its next event, the Veyron has pulled out apparently hes on Holiday that week . It will take place at an event, but im not a compeditor, no its not totb.
Im awaiting a phone call from Toyo but it looks like all is good & could mushroom. TV will cover it also & it will be videoed, 6 mag coverage also agreed.
Thats it at the mo should be more soon.

If only it was a Veyron, we could beat that, now know who we are against one of the most well known fastest cars in the UK , still at least we will be 2nd .

They could asked for a McLaren F1

No seriously, its very cool Rob just take the chance to go that, The caparo is a quite rare car and you won't be asked to run against these 2 cars every day. Hope you will give them hard time with the Cossie tho.

Not sure about spectators yet but been given a noise limit of 103db so can use launch control (well once anyway) .
If they are allowing Legends or Loonies in You will be the first I will ask JB.
