Testing the future
mark_24v_wiring lets hope they do a good job the capacity of the water system is not particularly relevant - it's the cooling capacity vs airflow of the radiator that is. especially on a kit car with small frontal area

Bulkhead would need to be cut out to allow the engine to sit back far enough, sump and oil pick up pipe and exhaust manifolds will need to come from a ram pick up to go over the crossmember. thats about as far as i got lol.
Yes its easy to get the engine box ecu and wiring i could make 1 phone call for engine box and wiring and another to have the ecu modded like i had to to get it to start its that simple if you have the cash and the contacts lol
foreigneRS
Thats why were going to leave it up to a proper company to sort out last thing we need is it over heating.
Any idea's any one?

Yeh it needs to go that far back put it this way take a tape measure from the back of ya cossie engine and go 36 inches forwards you will see what i mean.
If you wanted a gen 1 or 2 rngine you may be able to do it for around 7k gen 3 like this one your more like 9k all done i would have thought but you would need to do all the work yourself.
Ta for the rad idea

for radiators, bigger really is better
and if you can't get a big core in there, make a big surface area out of more small cores.
but you can get around this to a certain extent with super high efficiency cores. if you have a specialist on it, they should sort you out
airflow and water flow rates are also very important. you may want to uprate the water pump depending on the original design
don't forget that cooling can also come from the oil

Just to add another update take a look at what arrived today
So you get the idea for the front brakes 330mm wilwood discs ally bells uprights hubs mounting kit for the 6 pot caliper's.
All going over to mustang stud pattern as the back end parts when they arrive will be mustang makes life easyer for wheels and its strong enough to cope with the torque etc.

look cool as fuck, but i think they may be a little overkill lol
im guessing not, std solid disc cortina brakes on a westfield are more than man enough lol and dont fade either
but them things will probably make the car do a forward roll lol
engine will be heavier and all that, but at least it will stop lol

talking of kit cars, if you buy a kit from westfield or caterham and assemble yourself, is there any chance of getting your money back at resale time?
i've always wanted to build one, but don't want to do it just for it to cost a large amount of wedge. but if the resale chances and prices are high it would be great to do, drive for a few months and then sell.
where can i find prices for used examples?
sorry to thread hijack, will also make a new post

You could have expanded a bit more than that brother lol
Paul there not cortina ones but they are very close there mustang 2 which is very very close to cortina.
The brakes maybe a little over the top but better to have bigger than we need that have to redesign once its finished if there not big enough ( oh and we did look at having a set of 355mm!!)
