Keep the updates coming Ps you painting the cage before it goes in ???? Or is the inside going to be done with it in place

well been to see the car tonight
this first pic was made by andy (the guy fitting the cage) which is identical to what comes with the cage, how fooking cool
this is needed due to me wanting an extra diagonal on the rear
and as you can see the sun roof is gone, and a sheet on thin metal will be bolted on to replace it

well picked up the new sunroof today, (3ft by 4ft welding plate...lol)
there's been a change of plan, for now it'll be a bolt in cage, so might remove, then paint, then refit
some of the fitments, where waaaaaaaaaay off, so andy has modified them to fit
looking to have the car back next week some time

Ps if its bolted in when or if you have a ding dong you can remove it and bolt it in a new shell (of couse thats if you have'nt damaged the cage )

As for painting, I would take it out to paint if its not too much hastle - I painted mine in the car and it is an absolute pain in the arse! I would have removed it but having taken it in and out that many times during fitting I didn't know how much longer the threads would last on the base plates so I left it in to be safe.

yeah, thats the plan at the moment, remove to paint, then refit, and if i feel i want it stronger i'll get it welded.
i bought new bolts for all mounts, inc seats and mounts, so hopefully removing once will be ok

would you be able to bring your compressor over and paint it in my garage?
or would it be easier to give it to a paint shop????

At least if you do you can have a run round in a proper car (mine) and Tims (not proper) and if you know him/ask nicely Andys 500 - he's at full chat Sunday I think
