stuck the manifold on with a few nuts and sat blower on top to see what it looks like

one thing im not sure about the turbo its a turbo dynamics roller bearing md4 something with an ex housing that looks like standard es cos?!! . . . the guy who built engine saythe engine itself is easily good for 550bhp and the same torque if not more believe it or not, with right fueling and turbo. msd aparently said was around 460 when they mapped it (but they have no way of proveing it) but ive read that that turbo has only seen 420bhp max on other engines?? because its high comp will this differ? i know its the torque that matters anyway really and it did pull like a train but very curious!

my new wheels. just need sand blasting n painting in what ever colour i decide. be handy for when i come to move it aswel lol

deflex bushes all round, highly recomended all the sizes are spot on, cheap, look good n great service

cage would obviously be cool but realistically its a lot of work and did you say you want to track the car? also dunno about a full cage and leather, half chrome cage would be a good comprimise and a lot less work. black car, black leather, chrome cage

baught some steel rod from bnq as it was already the perfect size. drilled it on a lathe so the hole was central and cut them to length. not sure which im going to use and where, going to look at some pics. and how to make it cos i want to stick weld it for neatness but dnt wana wreck the paint on cam cover prob jus weld them individually then at least theyll pivot and cut them/file to length where it meets turbo

got the wheel bearings in aswel, the cups were feckin tight and nothin but a chisel n hammer to hand lol normally jus press them all together, take 2 mins.

1 down!

finito hours later. with only a poxy little fan heater that took 3 hours to take the chill off . . . . until someone opens the door ! ! !

Hi,

This looks like a thread i'll follow. I'm particularly interested in that rose jointed tca idea. I think it'll be good for strengtherning the weak part of the Sierras. Only thing is, it looks hard to bolt up the roll bar (back) mount with the normal length bolt.
I'd like to see it in place thou!

It feels great to clean up the car like your doing. I'm doing that my self and its a good feeling when its all rust free and gleaming?

I dont know but it looks a bit custom! Where'd you get it?
I know the Ford Scopio has been revised over the traitional set up throughout the range and I always thought id have a go at something like that when i finally finish my rebuild.
I see you got your rear beam alot better than mine. Looks real smoothly done. Is it painted or powder coated?

I just wire wheeled mine off and painted it black but I plan to redo it once the cars mot'd.

I started mine about a year ago. Started with a 3 door 1.6l and stripped it, chased the rust, installed a 4x4 tunnel as well as a panel in the sunroof hole, then installled a 24v cosworth engine on 4x4 trans,
I recently painted the bay and I'd say its 50% done to date with brakes, more prep & paint,etc...

I'd like to have it done by the summer but i'm possibly optimistic there!
Not a real cosworth unfortunately but it'll have to do for now.

Yeah just a bit mate! My main problem's loads of other crap getting in the way thou. Got my daily driver (granny cosworth) broken into so i had to sort that out...

Should start back on the Sierra in Feb.

I'm also in a single garage although that may change if i can find the funds. It was fun trying to paint in it with a standard height ceiling. Came out ok thou for the engine bay but i gotta find somewhere more suitable for when i paint the body.

Im hoping the n/a power will be good on the track if i can sort the handling out well

I like that shift cradle. Mines got a quick shift but i need those poly bushes. They must make a huge difference?

Looking good m8

Just one thing, were you planning on fitting the rear beam mounting bushes as you've got them pictured above???????

Pretty sure they are the wrong way around, see pic of mine:

My m8 fitted them like you have got them in your pics, the beam was along way from the chassis,so we are pretty sure they go how I've got them

If you weren't goin to fit them like that just ignore me!!!!!!!!!

Gotta be honest i fitted mine opposite to you kev.
Surely the thin polyurethane ring must provide a bush between the body and the beam or itsalmost metal on metal but for the tiny bit on the main bush.
I got a doner 4x4 that had these bushes (not deflex but same bits in the kit) and they weren't like yours.
I can see how it would make the beam lower that way but would be supprised if it were vastly different.

hmm, the bush is like a cone shape and will only go in one way into the beam? i must admit the ford bush only stuck out the top 5mm or something and these are more like 10. i also remember reading something in a forum where a guy had 2 bushes left over and pple thaught they went between the beam and the plate that you bolt too it / chassis? need to look into this thanks!!
