Cheers dude, gutted to have it off the road so soon but its a waste to keep having the gearbox rebuilt at £300 odd quid a time and 2 gearboxes in 800 miles is abit much.
Would be alot closer to a Tremec but the dentist is after a new Porsche i recon at what me teeth are costing to get sorted out.

Latest update as been busy with another project i have so the Sierra has taken abit of a back seat.

Firstly i took the diff out and sent it to Bara for a rebuild and he even cleaned and painted it all up for me

Also took the front bumper off and dropped it off at TT Mac (body shop) due to the paint all flaking off, (TT Mac didn't paint it before, was another crap body shop) so the car is looking in abit of a sorry state at the moment.

When putting the Diff back in i noticed one of the rear shocks was leaking so that was quickly removed and sent off, got it back today but its raining so will re-fit tomorrow

Yesterday spent a good few hours doing some wiring.

All went well bar the ACT gauge going up in smoke

Just need to finish wiring the gauges in/ fitting the sensors etc under the bonnet as only did the dash part yesterday but had a mate weld the boss in the down pipe for the AFR gauge so the exhaust can go back on this week as well.

Alright Ronnie
The shift lights are part of the AIM display, what you see on the right is the block for the "Bright 6" its the lights for indicators, high beam, hand brake light etc as i wasn't sure if they were needed for MOT and couldn't think where else to put them but its just a unfinished part at the minute, more work to be done on it yet.

Cheers Lincoln

Thank you for all your advise on the diff, gonna use this one for the while and see how it copes, should it break again im going the 8.8 route like yours.

Spoke to a few companies about the Tremec and they are coming in at $2600 shipped but by the time you add the import duty its going to be cheaper to source from here i think, got quoted £1750 i think it was with the vat from a place London way

Running a very noisey standard T5 at the minute, will be going the Tremec route but got to wait a few weeks for them to get stock at Roadcraft

Hey Gav - pay particular attention getting the bellhousing right on the Tremec - they are very sensitive if you get any runout on the input shaft - the tremec fits into the spigot on the standard bellhousing (if you get the ford box) but may not be accurately inline with crank once you have welded the bellhousing to support the tremec - it is a good idea to line it up with a spare block without a crank installed after you have modded the bellhousing.

Cheers guys all the hard work is finally starting to pay off.

Lincoln
Thank you for the information mate, you have been a great help with transmission info

Ronnie
Hoping to get a few track days under my belt this year if possible to get to know the car and iron out bits i feel need sorting once out there, plus Mallory is 15mins from my house and Donington is about 20-30mins away so i have no excuse.
The sensor on the filter is the lead for the Lambda, the lead is that long i recon i could have fitted it to the tail pipe, lol

Hoping to get most of the work done over the bank holiday to get it on the road again, just got to wait to get the bumper from the bodyshop and splitter off Mike Rainbird but my aim is to go to the Central groups track day at Mallory on the 5th Sept.

Cheers guys, cant wait to get it back out just having it running again was great, cost me a new battery mind as the other wouldn't charge. The engine fired up first turn of the key without any drama's and sat there idling perfectly for a good 20 mins while i set up the digital dash so was chuffed with that.

Was looking to have the car on the road this week for the track day but forgot im away on a stag do in Leeds friday/saturday/sunday so will tax it next week some time but it gives me some more time to sort the wheel speed sensor as need to make the wires longer to reach the dash and will fit the saff anti roll bar and adj. TCA's as well.

Marco
Will pop over once its on the road and take you for a spin see what you recon, but no moaning about the noisey gearbox, got my name down for a Tremec as soon as they come in stock.

Small update today

Went and collected my bumper from the body shop

Name: z23.jpg
Views: 111
Size: 48.0 KB

Got the guy to paint the inserts gloss black and the area behind the fog light grills as well.

Had a bit of bad luck with the splitter though as it seems it won't fit.

Bit gutted as it means i am held up again but im sure Mike will get the issue sorted for me.

Edited as the problem was the bumper not the splitter.
