Gary's Evo - 15-09-08 - Update!!!

I'll take some decent pics tomorrow. Cage is now VERY close to completion and looks
Then its off to the painters to get the inside painted, then start the re-assembly. I can't wait to see it done and plan to video Gary's first attempt at getting in the seat.

Well, the cage is finally in and finished. Some parts were MIG'd, but as much as possible was TIG'd. Chris is cleaning the inside of the car up, then its off to the painters. Sorry for the shitty pics, it's quite dark in our unit with the roller door down.......

How did you weld around the joints close to the roof or is there enough room to get the nozzle of the gun in?
I always thought it was a roof off job.
Looks mental though

Because the tube is extremely light-weight, you need a bit more of it.
Also, once this shell is prepared, who is to say that it's not up to WRC standard? ...and packing 700bhp with all proper brakes/suspension/transmission, it certainly is worthy of the cage.

For time attack to be legal the tube has to meet the spec regardless to how many tubes you can cram in there, also if it is T45 you should not be mig welding it. Other than that it looks to be a nice fit for a kit cage, The onlything I'm concerned about is that it looks like the A-post tubes have been extened at the top near the notch to main hoop.
