havn't updated this for a while.
the season is over now and i didnt win the championship i got pipped at the last race, snetterton was a double header and everything was looking good for us to take the championship. on the saturday event a coil pack failure resulted in me finishing in 4th position this put me 10 points behind the vauxhall vx220.
sunday i had to finish above the vx220, the weather was looking good and practice and warm up i was quickest which give me some confidence for qualifying which is what mattered as the points start in quali. the heavens opened before qualifying,
i finished 2nd in qualifying behind the vx i HAD to beat him in the final to stand any chance.
the rain hadnt let off for the final it was terrible conditions. with the car on low boost i was still wheel spinning in 5th gear on the back straight i stayed out and lap after lap i would get slightly quicker, to make things trickier my windscreen had misted up making visibility pretty much nil. i was using the side window to pick out marker points for braking and turn in. i was beaten by 4 tenths of a second
lesson learnt, next year i will concentrate more on wet set up, i didnt budget for a decent set of wet tyres so used my year old pirelli road tyres and hoped it wouldnt rain and pretty much every race was a wet race.
want to say thanks to every body for there help this year, i couldnt do it without them all
a few pics from the last race
and then the weather changed
and now the strip down/rebuild begins for next season, i have a new set of gaz monotube suspension that i was meant to test a couple of weeks ago but nackered my back so i have been out of action for the last month
they are a great bit of kit at first feel and the first noticable difference is the weight reduction compared to the golds, and a lot more adjustability.
started to take the stickers off and get the engine bay stripped down ready to get the engine out. it will be going to Johnyn for him to rebuild
you can also see the new downswept tailpipe i made up
will be lots of updates coming up now

had some spare time at work so decided to paint my set of wet wheels a bit of a bright colour lol
also to try and prolonge the life of my alternator i copied an idea from my friend mark saunders who has a lovely carbon clad black 3 door racecar, it is a carbon clutch cooling cover from jenson buttons honda f1 car, it will attatch to the rear of the altrnator
lots of plans for the car to improve for next season

Go 7.8:1, T4, bd16/14 Ronnie, that'll give you loads more grunt where you need it, then spend as much as you can on grip.
Moving peak power to higher rpm will help a fair bit with the issues we had with getting power down out of the corners, it will move the problem about 50 feet down the straights

Indeed, it would so much better if there was more of a theme in the stickers. Or maybe some kind of livery
Looking forward to the upcoming updates

Thanks for the comments everyone.
Johnyn has been over this weekend. Today we cracked on and get the engine out and John stripped it while I tidied some room up
Also took the box out for a refresh
Finished off like this tonight.
Massive thanks to John for he's help today
A couple of other bits I've had made. Hydraulic clutch set up with the master inside the car
And adjusters for rose jointed track rod ends
