Yeah hopefully over the next two weeks I can get it painted and get it back on its wheels, before I strip the front end
I can't wait to bolt it back together cos everythings either painted or new so should be a joy

mate. Didn't realise you were going the whole hog and painting the underside as well. I recon you should take the car to the previous owner once you have finished and show him it. He'll be speachless mate
I hope to do this to the S1 next year or maybe even start this winter?

I don't really know what it does to be honest mate, the seat belt mounting points are welded in so maybe it was for positioning purposes at the factory (but I can't see why).

thanks mate, my hole is stripped
put a bolt through with a nut and thick washer on the outsise, but theres a brake pipe clip on the inner side of the drivers seat, so i cant get a nut on the underside,
bloody typical, ive just put the carpets and seats back in too , when i found out the bolts didnt want to tighten

I don't want to be usin my S1 as an everyday car anyway and its perfect timin while I'm at uni to start it. I will then probably get a cheap run around for work next year and then have the S1 for fun

I was speakin to Danny on the phone the other night and he was tellin me about it
looks tidy though mate and if its a good reliable motor then why not ay!
One of my mates had a white one for his first car and that had a four speed box too. He was determined to get 100mph out of it but never succeeded
think he managed 90mph
which ain't that bad actually
I tell you what.... do you want to help me do this to the S1 as you've done such a good job of yours and I know you enjoy it really

The underside will now have two coats of a black Hammerite paint before being stonechipped (As recommended by a local restoration place, they've qouted Ł35 to come out and stonechip it with a portable compressor not including materials). I will then probably go over it again with a last coat of black hammerite to make it nice and shiny
looking good bud. looks like you've done a neat job with the mirrors, but i think the base plates look better standard but seen as you've already colour coded your door handles it should look ok.
has mick finished on the back end now so you can get that guy round to spray on the stonechip?
like your new sig & strut brace aswell
