Hi Beanhead

we have a WRC rear spoiler in the back of the Garage, might just give it a try this season.

Sim
I think CAE are located near you over in the Koeln area, the owner drives Slalom, might have been able to get some discount, next time.

Ben

will be preparing the car for painting in the next few days, still wondering if I should keep my original yellow or go for the Michelin Blue/Yellow scheme.
doing some more weight saving jobs this weekend also.
looking at removing the original arb and fitting GpA setup.
found a wrc manifold for the new engine.
should be on the dyno soon.

Kiesi
I think your dad was Nr 470 last year, I have some video of him at home.

looking for a Mercedes A class steering pump? anyone?

more pics to follow.

Hi Ben

The parts are available from a friend in kassel, I just need to get the alloy tca's made up (copied) on the CNC machine.
will let you know how I get on.

the original steering pump, belt, pipes and header tank are coming off. The whole contraption weighs about 10kg.

the Merc A class electr/Hydraulic pump has an integrated header tank, I just have to run a couple of flex pipes to the steering rack.
should save about 6kg and the belt is off the engine.

will post up photos when finished.

is your rear beam standard to kenny? as tubular ams can save 24kg of unsprung weight? and even more if you have the full beam done like it

have you seen the A Class pump conversion done yet on an escos yet?

My rear beam was standard, D Osbourne modified it for Camber and toe adjustment with some extra strengthening. 24kg saving wow, thats a lot. do you have more details?

One of the escort Cosworths here in Germany already uses the Merc A class pump instead of the original. The Escos in question weighs 940kg. (690ps J Goddfrey motor)

Well it was straight from the horses mouth so to speak

I was at santa pod a few weeks back and Danny B was there and we was chatting about weight reduction on my escos ect and he said that each one of his tubular arms saves 12kg "both sides" 24KG

Rainbird got excited about this as he said unsprung weight for a car cornering is like 4 times what weight you have lost, so it could feellike you lost 100kg's

his full blown beam is even lighter as its fully tubular, for more info PM Danny B Adrenaline race and performace is the companie name

what powersteering pot will you use the original one? do you have any picks of the setup on a car?

cant wait to see what weight you get your car down too!!

Not to mention Danny's tubular beam is fooking expensive. Of course there are quite some research behind, but it is still 2 grands.

Can't wait to see your car finished Kenny. When mine will be finished (I hope at the end of this year) surely we will have to meet on a hillclimb event !

Hi Ben

I didn't think the original arms were much heavier than 15kg or so. I'll check them out on Monday night after work.

I also heard that unsprung weight is calculated at 4 times normal.

Hi Xen

Do you compete in Switzerland? what are you doing to your car, is there a thread somewhere?

It would be great to meet up at a hillclimb, this year at St Agatha or Mickhausen. Don't think I'll be able to make Rechberg. Also Trento Bondone would be nice but it clashes with an event here in Germany.

Hello Kenny,

I am going to compete in Switzerland. Probably from summer next year. I am currently "building" a saph to something like a "group A clubman car" with some "unique" features hehe. No thread yet, but as soon as I will get more parts, especially an ex-works saph shell I will start a thread.

I will tell you later which events I will attend as photograph this year.
