Default How to make a single wiper yourself ??

Hello,
First hello to all because i'm new here.
I own a Mondeo mk II and i would like to have a single wiper, does anybody know how to make this ?

I want it right in the midlle and the wiper has to make 360 degrees turn and when it stops i want it an the passenger side.

I did try but it only goes like a 180 degrees and its not all the way in the middle.

Any one has tips ??

Ive used i Fiat Uno wiper motor and wiper arm, but it was a pig to get to fit right on my mk3 escort because the motor only just cleared the bulkead, and i had to modify the centre hole on my scuttle panel to make it fit!
So, i dont think i'd do it that way again. Apparently the preffered method is to simply modify the origional mechanism by moving the pivot point..... but that made my brain hurt when i tried to figure out the amount that i would have to move it by etc etc
You may well have more room on your mondeo than my escort to accomodate the Uno motor, and its a cheap, lightweight and reliable little unit. If you do decide to try this way (and it wouldnt hurt cos theyre only Ł5 from the scrappers) make sure you get one with an alloy thread on the main retaining nut- the very early ones ('85-'86) had a plastic thread that lasts seconds before you strip the thread.
I'll post pics of my conversion soon in my project thread ( 'project nk3 escort- bruiser to cruiser).
Lotsa luck!

You need to move the bottom ball joint position closer to the pivot point. You dont need to move the pivot point. Its a cut and shut job.

The closer you get it the larger the arc of the wiper. However you may have trouble with the push arm/ball joint hitting the underside of the windscreen cowling.

HTH

Cheers

Yeah, indeed
If i put the plastic windscreen on the underside and i move the wiper than the wiper goes to far and the plastic would brake,so i only testet it without the plastic and thats why i asked for more info .

Can i make the wiper point more to the middle or would this just brake or just not to do ??

Otherwise i gonna get myself such a Fiat uno wiper motor and wiper arm.

The bottom ball joint has moved closer to the pivot point, but no good enough

I let you guys know (and girls )
