Got cracking on the interior last night. Gave it a good tidy out and hoover, then applied some sound deadening mat to the footwells having replaced the floor drain plugs with new ones from Ford.
Then it was time for the a play with the spray gun and compressor
Mixed some paint up then Trev applied in a rather controlled fashion considering he hasn't touched a spray gun for six years
Going to put a couple more coats on then its time to fit the loom and fuel and brake lines.
Also continued my 'Anti-Bufty Campaign' by stripping my T38, air injectors and GGR dumpvalve
All ready to go to the platers for anodising black
Although i'm having bad thoughts about getting the turbo compressor housing polished after seeing how Trev's looked when i collected it

Having swopped my intercooler for one with 76mm inlets and outlets i decided to modify my throttle body to enable the fitment of a 76mm hose instead of a hose that reduces down. Picky i know
Firstly made a adaptor to increase the outside diameter from 63mm to 76mm
Then removed the raised bit that helps grip the hose.
Before
After
Then the adaptor fits on like so
Just need to TIG weld it now

Well had another busy day
Firstly made two -10 adaptors and a sump plug adaptor
Then did some cutting and welding to 'Big Wing' my sump for an increased oil capacity
And finally
Also modifed the angle of my intercooler outlet so that it lines up with the throttle body now i'm fitting a Swedish Style Plenum
To make it easier to fit my plumbed in extinguisher i've had a mounting plate welded on to its original bracket. It will be mounted on Mini exhaust cotton reels
Thats enough for today, time for another cold beer

COSSIEGAZ: Next job is to put it back together
jaycos: Never enough time mate, and no money left now
sidewayz: i'm on a roll
In fact its time for another update Thats three in one week
It started with an early morning phone call of Trev to say he was on his way to finish the painting
So after some final flatting and a quick mask up it was time to get cracking.
No problems with the paint drying in the sunny weather we're having
Got the first coat of white on just before a lunch break to watch the Moto GP
Couple more coats after lunch and the job is finished
Will give it all a quick flat and polish in a couple of days then its time to start fitting all the parts back onto the shell.
Hopefully get a new oil pump next weekend and i can get the engine built back up

Started to put some parts back on instead of taking them off
Through bulkhead fittings for the fuel line fitted where the ABS loom used to run.
Began to build up the brake pedal box and made up the front brake lines as well. Was originally going to use copper brake pipe but decided on using stainless braided instead.
Fitted fuel regulator and fuel return line.

Done a few more jobs this week. Started off by starting to fit the main car loom back in. I'm moving the fuse box inside the car as well. Welded a plate over the hole through into the engine bay.
The postie has been busy this week delivering a quickshift, some exhaust wrap, a front diff strengthening plate, some engine sensors and a set of brake pads
This afternoon removed the front anti-roll bar and took the gearbox out to fit the quickshift. With Trev having fitted his with his gearbox still in, mine was no hassle and he had it done in 30mins
The gearbox will be refitted complete with the engine.
Trial fitted front diff strengthening plate so i can measure up the length of studs i need to get.
I'm off to Combe tommorrow to see what else i can buy
