Default mini fuel type project thing on the 3dr

Decided to update the fuel system on the sierra as basically its 20 years old also I noticed that previously in its life someone had jacked the car up on the fuel return line

Here’s how I got on............

1st up the wiring was taken care of;

8AWG wire to be run fused at the battery directly to the fuel pump via Relay triggered by the OE wiring.

That’s everything taken care of at the engine bay end..............

Now to the boot

Relay mounted in the cover for the jack

Teminals soildered and crimped on for the fuel pump

Whilst under there anyway the tank got a lick of paint

Also cleaned up the cradle got a Grp A pump and new filter

.

Then I needed to mod the cradle so the filter was round the other way to simplify the setup.

Final product

With that lot all bolted together it was time to run the lines

Made the ends up

Dropped the old lines....

Crushed fuel return

.........run the new ones

Random gearbox shot

All connected up

Line at the engine bay end

Will weld the dash fitting onto the rail this week and that should be job done

am i THAT predictable Dan will leave it for a while as i am planning to move and get a bigger garage...........then i can do some proper mods

Rad i know but decided to draw a line losing the "fast road" aspect of the car otherwise i would have the thing striped with a welded cage before long

Cheers Dave the pump was 130 i think got it from Boshman

Cheers Gaz and luke

Thanks for the comments

Chris cheers will pop in later this evening and let you know

All4it. i got everything from Think Auto

Its called "aeroquip" Aerospace style hose. You will have to spec what you want depending on what you need and how you want to do it. Its simple to use once you get the hang and you can do loads of bits on the car making your own bespoke lines etc

For the fuel lines you will need PTFE lined hose to minimise the smell of fumes
