Blocks and inernals are the same in the ST170 as the regular Black top Zetec's but the heads are completely different.
Same inlet and exhaust manifold paterns though.
no there not the st170 rods and pistons are compleatly different to a normal blacktop also if you want to get realy pickie the st170 and the 2.0 blacktop blocks ARE different only very slitly tho

ST170 has the forged rod which is shite and slightly diff piston to compensate for the st170 lower head comb chamber volume

hence i said pickie lol and yes as you have stated forged rod and different pistons. cant see how they asr shit tho ive seen an st170 bottom end with a decomp plate running just over 300 good power for the price you have to out lay realy even karlos off hear is doing it in his escort cab
