then just use your orihinal cvh wire as that should still be there
i carnt remember the rev counter wire but i know you take it off the edis
you also need mk4 efi clocks as normal clocks wont read rite due to coil pack

hi mate i was just reading through some of your posts and replies
and it got me thinking!
ive got an efi xr3i whish has a 4 branch manifold onto a 2.5 inch straight throug exhaust and a k&n cone filter and also a kent cam and an adjustable vernier pulley and mine doesnt have any flat spots at all through th gears? mines pulls like a train and goes to 7k on the rev limiter without limiting and ive had mine at 135! my mate had a g reg rs turbo and he rekons it is quicker than his was??

Rev counter can be fed off edis, but i used the coil pack, it's one of the outside wires, one will work the other wont, can't remember which but it's 50/50... EFI rev counter needed as wasted spark system fires twice as often and will send your rev counter giddy.
For temp guage I just earthed the second wire on the zetec sensor and used the old cvh other wire cos at the time I didn't know if they'd be calibrated differently or whatnot.
MIXXR3I
I had a rally spec cvh in mine, solid lifters no rev limit, rs1600i head ported and sorted. It went well, made good power but in a totally different way to the zetec does. Your car might be as quick as a std RST, but if you have similar power and no lag it will feel as quick anyway.
Zetec head is as good as a stage 3 cvh as std, comes free with the rest of the engine which has a bigger displacement bottom end, is made a lot stronger, to more precise tolerances and is easy to source and is living relatively stressfree in it's home of a daily chugger mk5 escort with cats and things that you can remove for instant free power when in it's new home, I spent more money on the bare head for my old engine that only lasted me a couple of thousand miles.
If you think yours pulls well, imagine if the engine was bigger, stronger and had the same zorst and filter mods

Havent got the mk3 anymore, it was a stripped out slammed XR3 with 421, scorpion, no air filter. Pretty basic really but a lot of fun. there was thread on it on XROC website.

I've got a proper piss poor little update here....
New fuel rail. Was working on something posh and German recently and noticed the fuel rail, looked pretty good, took it off, took it home, it's only bloody perfect. Bolt holes line up with zetec inlet studs, injectors are spaced pukka, point in the right direction not like the FRST one where you have to make a bracket to hold them in on an angle. Regulator was reet weird though but a couple of bits of fuel hose and 10 mins later it fits. Pukka, cost me absolutely nothin. just gotta get a few hose clips...
Oh yeah and the car is all smoothed and ready to take the glass out finish flatting and paint. But I've got a fair amount on at work atm, gotta paint 2 other cars first.
