Default intercooler now moved, test results (westfield cossie)

Hi guys, thought I would post this up as I get asked about my set up quite often.

This was the old set up, intercooler behind the rad tilted down at an angle with a scoop which pulls air up a ramped intake to the intercooler.

At first it seemed to work ok, over the winter months I was getting about 35deg at normal driving and about 50-55ish at full chat (remember this is in a westfield so the temps are going to be higher anyway due to lack of space
Anyway....a couple of weeks ago I drove the car down from Coventry to Devon in hot weather and was horrified at the temps I was getting
Down the m5 I was seeing 45deg at normal driving and up to 65deg at full chat

So something had to be done

Basically I am using the same cooler and rad as before but i have swapped them round (I didn’t do this when I first rebuilt the car as the previous owner said it always used to overheat when on boost ) I now run a much better rad though (pace 4 row) so haven’t had any problems yet
(sorry for the shit camera phone pics )

bottom scoop and lower thin section of mesh feed the rad, upper main mesh feeds the intercooler.

Managed to test it this weekend on the way down to run to the sun
Driving down at 6am (fairly cold) motorway driving at 3500rpm was seeing 16deg full chat was 35deg
on the way home (2pm on a very very hot day) i was getting 28deg at cruising speed and max I saw was 44deg flat out for a good time period
Water temp normally sits at just over 80deg, never went over 88deg when the fan was working

So all in all im bloody well chuffed

Now all i got to do is replace the fan that seized on me on the drive back so I can actually sit in traffic without the temp shooting over 100deg any idea how embarrassing it was pushing the car into the show on Sunday as it was overheating in the traffic (still id rather shut the engine off and push than fry the engine )
