Default My MK6!!

Here's my Ford Escort Mk6 Zetec 1.6, Obviously 1998, Bodywork is pretty much spot on except some rust on one of the chassis rails which will be being fixed before these cold winter months, What do you guys think?.

Nope, It's got the picture of the car if you know what I mean, What's the difference with it having the rev counter or not? and is the car supposed to do anything because say I open the door on one side it wont show up on the picture?.

Does anyone know where the wheels are from because most other Escorts I'm seeing have these wheels as standard

The wheels on yours are the right ones for mk6 escorts. The last of the mk6 had them triangle ones like in yoyr pic.

There the basic dials from the likes of the Encore, so the picture of the car fills the gap.
Im sure in the handbrake light is near it though.

Them wheels where fitted to the SI versions and later "99" finesse versions before they had the RS 7 spoke wheels fitted.
As your car is the early "98" finesse it has 14" wheels, a low spec front bumper with no fog lamps.
But from memory they have aircon and a 4000 tape player

Yup spot on about have no fogs and it does have aircon which loads of mechanics seem surprised about but it has the 5000 tape player if there is any difference.

The aircon was a big selling point of the Finesse over the LX as the LX did not come standard with alloys, the spoiler or aircon.

Is it possible to get a rev counter for this model?, I made another thread about clutch problems I was having in it and It would just help me knowing how many revs I even have/can go up to without destroying it?

From memory the rev limiter kicks in at 6500rpm. I cant see why you cant fit a set of dials with the rev counter and get it working providing the correct wiring is there.

a higher spec speedo can be added and in some cases a additional wire needs to be run to the ECU to enable rev counter operation, you can also add things like a fogged front bumper etc as its simple bolt on DIY mechanics as a escort is a very easy car to work on

Looks clean for the age, i had mk5b and several mk6s and loved them all! miss them tbh but loves me focus

good thing with mk6s most things are plug and play. i bought a set of Si white clocks for my 98 finesse and plugged them in and it worked! think i fitted lecky mirrors aswell plus a complete si interea and some ghia chrome bits and footwell lights . mine had those 14" wheels but i fitted some mondeo 16s. i love mk6 escorts on those

my old one probly long gone now
