its a good example glenn. i was thinking of a puma before i bought a focus for track.they can perform great on track for the bhp they ahve so you will have great fun no doubt.
have you got any modifying plans for it?? if you do nothing else i reccomend some track tyres and it will be awesome. federals are about 63 on mytyres.co. and make a big difference.

I want rear hub spacers and a set of lowering springs.I fancy doing the mk3 mondeo front brake upgrade.

It keeps up to my mates ST170 I couldnt catch him though.

Nice little MSB you have there - rear arches look good!

Might I be cheeky and suggest you visit my forum for helpful advise etc?

Forgot to mention I modified the intake pipe to the air box.I couldnt believe the intake pipe goes above the nsf wheel under the inner wing. T
I turned the u bend round so that it was facing the front of the car and took the inlet pipe and this daft box thing off.Its got a bit of induction noise now.I was thinking about a cone filter and get a good cold air feed to it.

i love puma's i did have one for a while, it was an early one R reg .Brakes were a bit rubbish but i think the earlier ones had smaller brakes. it was nippy and still good on fuel. i also raced an st170 once and he couldnt lose me i also raced my mate in his v6 2.5 kia (crap car i know) but he could'nt lose me and was a bit quiet when we got to our destination lol

mine was red but i always liked your colour and the blue they did

It is a daft way to get the air intake isn't it. Facing the front is how the FRP one is as standard so Ford know it's daft..

Cone filter just makes more noise rather than more real power. A slightly larger throttle body from a Mondeo (with the butterfly knife edged) makes the throttle response crisper apparently.

ouch that hurt a little lol. id be very suprised indeed if a similarly modded puma could match a 170 around a track driven properly.it may come close but wil never beat one. not while im driven anyway, il smash it off the track first lol

Or right. I might try the cone filter and see what I think.

I always liked driving these, but I always HATED banging my head on the A pillar when I get in them, and I'm a midget.

I like the gearchange and quick ratio steering.

Sister's had a couple of them and always seems to struggle getting rid, mind you the last Green one she had was minging round the arches.

Tbh everyone says do I not bang my head. When im getting in and out.Im 6ft2 and I havent yet.

I really love the handling on it.

Bits ive done to it so far are rear brake shoes which looked like the originals, rear axle bushes and a timing belt kit.It took me about 4 hours to do the belt.

The car has 84k on the clock which I dont think is too bad.I looked everywhere for nice one. There was only one puma which wad close to me and that was 30 miles away. I bought this one and now there is 3 on ebay about 10 miles away lol. Sods law.

2.0 is so much heavier than the SE, would ruin the great handling of these cars!
Breathing mods, 300mm brakes and a set of lowering springs plus some decent rubber = oh so much fun.

Absolutley agree, unless you were to ZT, the heavier 2.0 would only provide around the same output as the 1.7 performance wise.

A good stainless cone filter will give a nice amount of air in and make it roar like a lion instead of a puma

Yeh it is a nice colour. The radio lol thats another story. I have got the same radio but its the dark grey colour one.I bought this silver one off ebay for 18 quid all in.Plugged it into the car and it wouldnt read any cds lol.I thought right I will get the other radio and clip the silver front onto it.I did this but there was no display.

Ffs its the same radio just different colours. So I took the radio fronts apart and put the silver front onto my orginal front. So basically ive paid 18 quid for a radio front lol.

Why is nothing easy.
