My New Evo 6.5 Tommi Makinen Edition
Hi all. Not been on here in an age!! Thought I'd let everyone see what's keeping me away from Fords these days.
I got a really good offer on my Black Evo 6, and it sold to a lad in Wales. As soon as he left a deposit, I bought a MINT freshly imported Tommi Makinen.
It's a proper stunner!
I delivered the black one to Wales, after a mammoth cleaning session. It looked spot on!
Stayed in a hotel next door to SVA Imports in Dover. Got up early as fuck to go collect my TME.
I was made up with it. And a 680 mile drive home let me get to know the car well.
Started the mods almost instantly.
Bit of carbon and paint.
Coilovers
And got the Rotas on the black 6 powdercoated white and fired some new Bridgestone RE070 semi slick things on.
So, that's where I'm up to. Still to do, is fit HKS Hardpipes, Intercooler, EVC 6 Boost controller. Got a greddy boost gauge to go in. A fuel pump. A Ross Sport inlet. Getting a Map on the 29th.
Hope you like! Cos I do!

Nice looking car, interior remind me of my old Evo. Shame about the alloys, would look so much better on the standard ones.
What you doing about the lack of rear door decals, Also does the car have the boot chassis strut brace?
What about the standard wind deflectors?

Get fucked
Cheers!!
Cheers buddy!
Ha ha! I think you sold yours too cheap mate. I doubt this will drop like a regular 6 does... Well, it had better fucking not
Get an import. 90% of the UK ones I looked at were just rotten!
I love these wheels!
Cheers mate!
I agree. 9x18's. But unless you're paying for them I'll stick with the GTRs, I've spent waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much on the fucker already
Meh, some folks just don't have any taste.
Not doing the decals yet. It has a ralliart rear strut brace. There's a pic of it. Up there ^^ Wind deflectors are a no no, as they look shit. And the wheels are staying because they, like me, are awesome!
Me an you both buddy!

Im not on about the Ralliart strut im on about the boot chassis one. Lift your carpet up theres one that fits to the floor bolted down using the bumper spacer threads.
I shouldn't of said 'strut' as that may of confused you.

I thought they were from the TME. My brembos were looking proper gash and i re painted them and fit the decals on to tidy them up. While i was at it i fit red HEL brake hoses. 40 groove discs and OMP racing pads.
The car came with some nice mud flaps on too. It even had the standard mats aswell(same as yours) just dont put them in the washing machine the badge almost fell of my drivers mat.
Also is the intercooler water spray switch wired up?

The intercooler water spray is wired in, as it is on all Evos mate.

Very nice, and rotas look spot on.
Can you get Orange front indicators for a Evo 6?
My mates evo 5 has orange ones and they look cool and retro.

not sure who, mine was a low mileage 3 owner car from new.
Whoever did it didn't connect the cigarette lighter/12v output wiring in. It must of been done when the double DIN was removed for a single DIN and cd pocket.
It was a bloody good car, only mods were Greddy/Trust turbo back system and some crappy baileys dump valve. That got binned for a Blitz one and i fit a HKS mushroom filter. I also fit a Ralliart rear brace, same as yours. The black paint round the doors had faded so i fit carbon fibre 3M stuff on there instead of re painting it.
It sounded awesome, had plenty of pops and bangs.
Still limited to 112 MPH.

I'd check the std dumpvalve. I've had loads of evo's over the years and those plastic dumpvalves always seem to leak off boost pressure. I've had a couple where i've reversed the dumpvalve (so it's being forced closed under boost rather than open) and they've gone so much better and the extra boost they are now holding would show up worn plugs with a missfire all of a sudden. It sounds good too, not only do you still get a bit of recirc (so it still drives fine) but you get a bit of compressor stall too. Also did this on an old porsche 944 turbo (they have the same bosch ones like cossies) and it was like a new car..
