New car for the missus
As the title i have just bought this for the missus.
I originally wanted a st220 tdci, 530d estate, taureg or X5 but this popped up local and she fell in love.
The missus has only been driving 2 year and allready had the older model she is a short arse and likes the driving position in these.
I have to say im pretty impressed it is the 150bhp sti dti model with a few extras .
It has vxr looks as it has the exterior pack diff bumpers, skirts, spoiler, fogs, tints diff lights, 18 " wheels, diff suspension and this one came with leather.
Not exactly what i wanted but its for the missus and shes well happy.
Oh and i have allready bought a vxr exhaust to go on lol

Is it a CDTI?
Get the egr blanked asap to stop the inlet blocking up with carbon and killing the inlet manifold...
Has it got dpf? If so knock it out and get it mapped... with egr and dpf delete should be a reliable 190-200bhp and still do 60mpg...

Sorry to have to say this but a friend of mine had no end of bother with his. Gearbox, clutch and flywheel, inlet/dpf faults causing the car to go into limp mode. He spent thousands on it, and it still wasnt right.
DPF is the diesel particulate filter, an advanced cat if you will.

Brigsport yeah mate i know about the clutch/flywheel problem and the usual egr faults but the dpf fault is a little new to me.
Slammedorion, sounds like fun but dont want the missus to kill it lol.
I read the dpf is basically a pre cat do u actually blank it off or knock the internals out ?

Knock internals out if it has one or replace with straight pipe...
Delete the egr, trust me it'll cost you more if you don't...
It'll then need the light putting out, so if your having the egr and dpf mapped out, may aswell have alittle bhp tweak...

Get on a zafira forum... They'll help you out, I'm a member on Vectra c and there very helpful.
I know we've made it sound bad, but if you get these bits done ASAP you'll have a belting daily that's reliable.
Unfortunately most new cars all have the same issues, some are easier to deal with than others.
Get on Ebay for Opcom too, that'll save you a fortune on having codes read...

A vauxhall of a ford forum..... Only joking looks a decent car mate, I looked at a Zafaira VXR a couple of years ago before I got my current car.
The CDTI engines are cracking units from Fiat, one of my mates had one of these engines in his Punto and it was quick as anything.
