Default The misses' streetka!

We've had it a couple of weeks now.. Not in bad condition for an '06. And it came with the removable hard top (which is exactly what she wanted!) Usual scratches and stuff. Been doing a few bits to it to tidy it up!

Tbh, if it was up to me and i had the dollar!.. I'd get the rims, get a filter and exhaust for it.. But the misses is well pleased with it as it is! We're gonna try and get a stainless exhaust for it at some point and i've gotta try and keep it as clean as i can for her!

I took the arch liners off.. Had a bucket of soapy water and a hose, gave them all a scrub with a hard bristled brush and sponge, then the front ones i put some autoglym Rubber and vinyl care on it, the rear ones i hosed off, once all the mud was off, and let them dry off.

She's had 3 normal ka's and fancied sumink' different! She wanted the convertible for the summer aswell! This still goes really well for a 1.6! Gotta do an oil and filter change then all should be good! Cheers for the comments so far!

You wont make that mistake again!! Theres a difference between allowing her to use a car and giving it to her.

One allows you to retain possesion when you ditch the bitch

That looks smart! Think the silver ones look proper nice! Did you change the whole headlight Hayley, or just take the amber bit out?! I've seen the de-tango'd headlights for sale but was wondering if you could take the orange out yourself?

SWR1 camshaft transforms the engine

http://stevewyndhamracing.com/produc...mulgr0ccpu4lk2

just change the backbox the rest of the exhaust system is fine

my Wife's old SportKA with full SWR ST120 kit, coilovers, cossie rims, milltek, etc

That DOES look hard as mate! Love those 2 pics!
The misses aint into modifying it at all! We're just trying to get it all up to a decent standard really.. Gotta try and get some almost perfect standard alloys for it as there are 2 that have big dents in and all of them have been curbed!

nice car looking car!
shame about the shit fuel economy and Ł220 per year road tax though

Do these suffer from the same rust issues as the sport?

She only really drives it back and forwards to work so hopefully the mpg'll be ok! Tbh when we've looked at these there doesn't seem to be much rust on 'em.. This one has none on it! It just hadn't been looked after very well, so has a couple of alloys dented and scraped, a couple of dents in the bodywork and bad maintenence really!

100% that's taken outside the worlds end pub!?

I live in Tilbury lol. Cracking car mate looovely and clean. I've got a black mk2 focus n its impossible to keep it clean

My only gripe with KA's is how much the arch swallows the wheels, needs 10-20mm spacers to pack em out.

My over half has had hers 3yrs now (sportka) and must say weve found it very reliable, only a replacement alternator. My way of looking at is i would rather pay a little extra a week on fuel and have something reliable than have a car that does 50mpg but goes wrong every couple of months.
I think there great cars so easy to drive handling is very good, First thing i thought when i sat in one was 'mk3 fiesta!'

Cheers Rosco! Tbh, all i did was remove the "carpet", scrub them with a hard bristle plastic brush to get the dried mud off, then i hosed them off and gave them another scrub and let them dry off in the sun! The coils, i just wiped it all clean with a bucket of car shampoo'd water and dried them off with a chamois!

Absolutely mate! Its only mechanicals at the end of the day, so if anything goes wrong it's pretty easily sorted at home!

Went down a local-ish breakers yard today (for the 3rd time in 3 weeks!) as there were a couple of bits that we still need for the ka.. We'd already got some arch liner screws, n/s rear light, plastic engine cover and a few other little bits.. This time we Needed another roof latch, as one of ours was broken, and we wanted to look at a sportka steering wheel that was down there! Had a look at the steering wheel but it was all bobbly and they wanted Ł60 for it .. As i was taking the latches off i noticed that this streetka had the ford wind deflector, so i took it off and took it to the counter, along with the 2 latches, a clean expansion tank cap. Asked the bloke "how much for this?" He said "ooh, those things go for stupid money" pointing at the wind deflector! he then says.. "give us a tenner for it all" Result!!

At the car show on sunday, looked around the autojumble for nothing in particular, just anything that might catch my eye! Saw a little ford box on one of the stalls, had a look and got a bargain! A brand new streetka/sportka/puma gear knob! Asked the bloke how much, he said Ł4! They're about Ł40 from fords!

The box..

The new knob..

The old knob..

Comparison..
