Is have really liked to go this route with my new engine but.. I don't fancy changing the manifold ... Only cos I'm trying to keep the std subtle look under the bonnet.

The 600hp one I have tested had full boost 2.6bar at 3700rpm in 4th so I am expecting the same at under 3500rpm.

What sort of RPM are you expecting spool/full boost? Great looking bit of kit

Below is my GT42 figures 2.32 bar @ 4680rpm & 2.75bar @ 5060rpm.
This new one will spool more like a gt35 so many hundreds of rpm better than my previous setup.

the gt42 was even laggier than that graph suggests on the road wasnt it ? the dyno runs alot more load than in car doesnt it rod ?
will the new engine be on this same dyno with the 9180 before its fitted in the car again ?

personally i wouldnt think twice about changeing that manifold, i think you would be pleasantly suprised at the gains you could get from a bigger turbo more top end power but still have the same or better response as your current set up.

my supra was open scroll but my r33 is semi twin scroll, turbo is twin scroll gt40r and that in itself is now old news, and manifold itself is twin scroll but wastegate is a joiner, the response is noticably different and apparantly the effects of twin scroll are even better on 4 pots.

Thats correct the bigger the Turbo the harder work it is to keep it on the sweet spot. I got to grips with it in the end but obviously 800 is not going to be as easy to drive as 500. The biggest improvement to my car would be a 4.1 diff it would make 5th into 4th etc & so much easier to drive. It would however drop the Topspeed from 217mph down to high 190's. I search ebay on a weekly basis as Jag did do that ratio but im told its hens teeth & diamond expensive but it may turn up.

So whats the aim with this then? Im guessing its all costing money so their must be a goal.
Fastest Sierra or just simply to do 200mph in a straight line over a mile?

ive got one of my parts suppliers trying to source me one of these now rod, if i can buy it through the company im gonna get one.
i dont suppose you know how similar the 9180 is to a gt40/42 do you, as in positioning on the manifold and clearance between the head and inner wing ? im very tight for room both ways with the gt40r.

The 9180 is a fair bit smaller in outside dimentions than the 42 its prob closer to a GT40 in its size so easier to fit.
