Its rated at 950bhp on the housing shown. Ive already ordered a bigger housing thats due in the summer that will be 1000+bhp. It wont make that on mine though around 850 I guess im sure Mark has more idea. Ive purchased it for spool not more Power as it is still a road car the results are incredible on the smaller ones.
Its been a long wait & im now glad the car has been on hold untill it arrived. Will discuss with Mark putting this new engine on the Dyno but im not sure how easy it is with the dry sump system.

v man 12-03-2013 07:17 PM

Rod are there not certain dangers using a turbo bigger than the owner

Don't work under the bonnet with the engine running you will get sucked in

That turbo is quite a bit smaller than the one we had on it that was rated to 1200hp and this is rated at 950hp.

Mark

NoRubNoDub 12-03-2013 08:13 PM

CHRIST!! You're going to have to beef up the engine mounts to stop it falling over with that bolted to it!! Lol

gjh 12-03-2013 09:03 PM

JamesH 13-03-2013 10:15 AM

Awesome

The turbine housing looks amazing twin scroll!

oriurbo 13-03-2013 11:19 AM

very impressive bit of kit !

Rod-Tarry 13-03-2013 12:58 PM

Wow!!
Just got back from Marks first reaction to the 9180 its remarkably small. Next to the GTX4202 its an inch or so less diameter. Its probably around a gt40 in size. Its an impressive bit of kit though with a built in dump valve so i will run 2 dump valves. The most remarkable thing is its weight about half of the GTX42 I guess.

MK MOTORSPORT 13-03-2013 01:00 PM

HI ROD
that looks a very nice piece of kit , is exhaust housing stainless ,i know your building the car back for top speed run ,i was wondering why you need such a big turbo could you not run a smaller one for less lag and just more gas so you can build speed faster given the room you have to reach top speed os doesent it work like that ,now you have all the parts now how long will it be before its running again

thanks mark

turnover 13-03-2013 04:58 PM

That's not big enough Rod you need some Maltese inspiration lol
