Lovely looking bird, where do you even buy something like that as I looked in pets at home but they must have been out of stock with Christmas and all.

What are the leather gimp masks for?

Yea it was windy, thats one of the reasons he had his hood on as he kept baiting, that's a lovely looking bird in that pic mate, this is my mates second goldey in 2009 he was flying a 2 year old that he had imported from Germany. He had permission to fly on a lot of land in Durham and went up to fly one day with my brother, they had been there a couple hours any way bird got a flight to go over the brow of a hill and they couldn't find him so out with the telemetry turns out he flew a bit distance and landed just on the edge of a wood in the long grass wings spread as they walked up they thought he had just had a kill but he hadn't so they started to panic as the goldey couldn't seem to fold his wing in they assumed it was broke, so went straight to vets had X-rays etc turns out to have gun shot shrapnel in his wing unbelievably someone had deliberately shot him, it was a long healing process nursing him back to health but is now flying as a demonstration bird

Jesus dirty bastards...... Anyone that shoot a BOP wants hanging..!

I'd your mate hoods again tell him to hood him on a static perch and not a swing perch as he will struggle to regain balance ... Probably only on there for the pic any way and hooded ... Good stuff mate

Sorry to hear about the bird being shot. Their really are some assholes about. I know there are a few people getting the arse with red kites and a few have been killed via various means over Oxford way.
One things for sure if I ever saw one of our guys even point a gun at anything other than things on the kill list I would press for prosecution. It sickens me to see someone shoot something like that.

Good stuff mate, it's surprising how many people are getting into it, bad thing really because most dont look after them, I've only had Harris hawks and sparrow hawks wich was great fun and I loved but I had good mentors to help me when I was learning alot buy them not having a IMO

Cheers
