Knockhill Classic Crash - Who's in the wrong?

What do you lot think? This happened at Knockhill last Saturday during qualifying. The TR8 was going for a hot lap (despite previous mistakes on this perticular lap meaning he wasn't going to put in a good time) and the Austin was out getting some good times in.
I'd say the TR8 made poor judgment and was too eager to get past the austen on that short straight between the 2 corners, if the austen wasn't there i'd take a guess that he wasn't going to make that turn fully and would have ended up on the grass going by his speed/line!
What makes it worse is the Austen had just had a bare shell 3 month rebuild, and that was it's first outing was a minter too! I don't know either parties involved but had seen the Austen. Was passing ST150's and Legend race cars up the straight!

TR8 all day long, he didn't take a wide entry into the previous corner to get the austin on the cut back up the inside, and just tried to push his way passed, I see this alot specially in qually as when your on a hot lap your totally committed and if you come up against a slower car you do get angry and try not to waste the lap. But that can lead to what we have seen here..

It doesn't help the poor guy in the Austin though The driving standards of the TR8 driver are really poor, he needs to cool it!

I dunno, looks a lot like the TR8 went for the corner and the Austin cut straight across to make the corner before him. But I'm sure there's better angles from officials that made the ruling on the fine. Afterall, can't really issue a guy who's just rolled a nasty fine too, like kicking him when he's down

Austen had the correct line for the corner. TR8 should have yielded cos there is no way he would have made it through the following chicance carrying that speed using the line he was on.
It is single file through there otherwise you end up on the grass or in a smash.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
TR8..
he went for the over take but after he got it sideways out of the previous corner he should have backed off and waited. If he'd got a clean drive off the corner he might have made it to the corner at least level. As it was he put himself in no mans land, he was not along side so the Austin took the proper line through the corner..

Not a racing buff but the TR8 looked to be at fault in my opinion. He looked like he was pretty talentless and was just giving it full throttle constantly with no idea of smooth driving and racing lines, getting in a right mess and not having much of an ability to read what other racers, using the racing lines would be about to do.
I hope he got some proper stick for it.

Tr8' driving like a c0ck did he get his race licence in an African state?'if he hadn't hit the Austin he was heading for the gravel.
Non excuse for that especially not in practice.
