Bloody hell! Nissan GTR 1601 bhp (new record)
Information, video and graph shamelessly stolen from Pistonheads.
Look at this power/torque graph, 1601bhp/1152lbft @wheels!!!
Here's a vid of it in action too, as you can imagine it goes rather well

Works and plays on track
Don't get me wrong, I love R35s and it is quick but for all that power I would have expected even better TBH. The only thing that really impressed me was the terminal.

Zee Germans are coming
if i remember right
the 8 sec pass is over the 8th of a mile not quarter
and i think the speedo is kmh not mph
still impressive ammount of power
makes me wonder though if the yanks measure horse power the same as we do because they seem to measure everything else differently

I think 8.9 seconds for an 1/8 of a mile with 1601bhp and AWD is a pretty slow time.

That's definitely 1/4 mile.
They normally measure at the wheels and we measure it at the flywheel so their figures are normally lower than ours for the same power. Having said that the figure quoted is BHP which seems odd for an American car.

Seriously quick car. It never ran the 1600bhp in any of them vids due to traction. People that are into drang racing have said the power figs will be right for it to go that quick an topspeed
