so what would he have to pay for a good viper engine, more than what he would get back i'd guess

my enigne came out of a car that had only done 600 miles, on top of the price in the above link, it would need the ecu sorted to get round the imobalizer, that around 500 quid, or run after market, but for Ł per HP its not to bad, and they include the 6 speed t56 that people in america are running 1000hp though with no issues, the viper t56 is the highest rated t56 available of all the t56's

I discovered the very same thing with about 550 brake against Carls 1000 brake Viper at Fighting Torque 2009, and I still made 182.67 in a mile from standstill in 29.5 seconds, Carl did 199.9 in about 25 seconds lol

we looking at supercharging the viper engine, so the sierra is more than likely getting a mustang live axle to take the power, same as the focus

Fair play mate you've done a great job on that and I think perhaps not enough credits given to this beast.
When you think about it Ł7000 does get you a very reliable 600bhp with a 6 speed box which is just starting it's tuning potential.
I love it.

Yeah I dont know if they even offer an SRT10 anymore .. Think its been replaced with the new Hemi found in the high end Challanger / Charger ..

Ford still offer the V10 in there Superduty line (Got one in my work truck)

compare that to how much it would cost to get a genuine and acceptably reliable YB at that power level!!

Maybe im getting old but the more i think, the better a modern V8 or V10 seems as a base for a high power car.

In real terms probably better on economy too I remember reading a kit car article about a ultima with chevy v8 power and at 400bhp that was still returning 25-30mpg on a steady long run using 95 ron and that was an ancient old chevy block, many of the newer v8's and bigger have more advanced fuelling and some even run on only 4 cylinders when not booting it. Where as a tuned cossie needs good quality fuel and once you get much over 350bhp you can kiss good bye to 30mpg on runs.

the old boat anchor image of the old big and small block cast iron v8 that didn't rev has long gone state side, my theory is buy american engine, use jap tech to run it as in electronics, and build it in the uk, modern american v8's are revving to 7k+ from the factory, some have 4 valves per cylinder, quad cam, and superchargers factory fitted with all the right bits inside youtube joe's gttt and see the ford gt 5.4 go to a reliable 1012hp at the wheels with just a pair of turbos and a remap, or the new 5.8 gt500 now coming out the factory with 662hp, makes the old stock 220hp cossie sound a bit crap, not bad for 2.0 but crap if u want big power, this viper engine with this tune is good for 100k miles easy, and a service ever 12k, unlike a cossie 4 pot with this power that would need a complete rebuild long before 12k

u can get a ford modular v10, hasn't got the power of the dodge engine, but could make good power with some work.

long live the american v8/v10
