Celica SS3 Beams paintwork resto....
Well my good friend and neighbour recently bought a Toyota Celica from East London without seeing said car.
The car is quite a rare beast - an SS3. This basically means it has a factory tuned 2.0 engine which revs to over 9k and makes around 200bhp in standard trim.
It has all the toys, but, the owner didnt tell him about the paintwork - it was very dirty, not as in a quick clean and wax but as in baked onto the car from years of not being cleaned properly.
Now I dont have my machine polisher now and the initial plan was a simple wash before clay bar and a mild amount of paint renovator however this couldnt have been that simple
So the whole car had to be renovated by hand and then waxed accordingly.
Some before pics which dont do the car justice of how much work was needed;
In process;
Lots of dirt off the car;
This goes to show how bad it is - this was like this on all the edges of the panels;
The optional extra wind deflectors were removed prior to Simon buying it which is a shame as if it had these it would of had all the extras possible.
Here is the remnents;
Some in process shots;
And the results;
And together with mine;
The Celica will be built into the Hide N Seat showcar which is Simons interior retrimming company.
Next up is alloys before lowering springs
