NOOB WARNING :
Easy with this one! it's my very first post.
So Hello! Thought i'd put my fresh daily up along with a little Intro. I looked for an "introduce yourself' section but i'm feeling pretty incapable at the moment so apologies in advance. Thought i'd post on the thread that inspired me to join : )
It's only my third ford! but the cleanest one i've ever owned.
Bought in April 2014 for £950, she's a 1.6 zetec, manual, got 74k miles on the clock, Im owner no.3, FSH, loads of stamps in log book, engine purrs, no clicks or rattling! well looked after by previous owner - let say he's called Colin - (apart from the dog hairs all over the back)
http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1400444759
wearing matte black Azev A's 16x7.5 et35 195/45/16 proxes in the pics but have since been replaced by 14" steelies as they're not 'technically' legal on the fronts for arch protrusion.
work done since bought:
removed ghastly "GB' sticker from tailgate,
replaced faded reg plates with new euro ones
debadged
Dark smoke tints on back
clear indicators
body colour tailgate trim
chrome exhaust tip
new brake discs front and pads all round
all fluids, sparks and filters replaced
now wondering whether to roll/pull the arches to allow the wheels to fit under them or change the wheels altogether to fit with stock suspension
Anyone with experience with pulling the arches out on focus estate? - don't wan't to mess with the clean lines really. I've spend days wondering what wheels would suit best on a silver focus estate. Black? or Silver?! ARGH!
or should i just play safe and go for a clean set of st170 rims or 16" x 7 Calibre Vintage rims after i lower it on eibach pro-kits. any recommendations for coilovers?
Your wise words i require.

Cheers! cost me £140 to tint 5 rear windows, and its the second darkest from limo black.
yeah took me a while to find a clean one like that under a grand! loads of them have rust issues especially where you had to repair yours. And in the tailgate. Water get's in through the tailgate trim and sits inside in interior panel to rust!
I love it though. It's managed to transport a 3 seater sofa in the back and plenty of room for a double futon mattress (no that's not why i tinted the back windows) it's just experience from a camping trip gone wrong! but hey you never know!
The idea is to keep it clean now and lower it a touch. A quick call to chipsaway soon to remove the few scratches from where the roof bars used to be!
Question what are you getting mpg wise on your 1.6? i'm 45-50mpg is that about right?

yeah most sub 1k focuses now are ropey, my mate was looking for one for someone the other week who only had 1k to spend and could'nt find one with solid sills! mine looked fine untill we prodded them lol but all good now.
i love the car for what it is, drives nice, would like more power but then it would cost more to run.
That's good mpg though cos last decent run i did with 4 people and a boot full of luggage i returned about 42mpg i think

Yeah she's not bad at all. May change the spots for for St 170s.
Any one else got pics of there estates or has everyone moved on to later models now?
Has the heated seats, xenon lights, park sensors.
