the riders there are cool generally. its the mums and dads that seem to get up there that you saw.. probably never venturing that far from the car park LOL.
I love the DH/Freeride scene, its exactly the same in FOD as other places,
always say hello to just about everyone, it only seems to be the hardcore XC'ers that are steaming up some bloody great hill that don't speak LOL.
Someone see you go fast or big off a jump or something, you hear people shout
'yeeeaaahhh!'
I love that, its exactly the same when seeing other people ride, can't help but shout when someone is goin good. lol

I would stay away from a frame that needs welding its a mine field,,

Some oranges here but be warned. Oranges hold their price, you can have a newer frame for cheaper if you look at different brands

I was very very lucky with my 160 i got the frame for £500
The orange 5 or sub 5 will b perfect but they go from £250 up wards, in all honesty if it was me starting out riding again i would build a hard tail, super simple you cam have a good bike for little cash and it will cover all forms of riding!!! If at a later date u get in to riding in q big way u can always swap the bits from the hard tail to thea full sus. Frame!!
The marin on ebay your looking at is a good bike but message the seller see if the shocks included

I know I was watching on the motorway and could here them shouting Danny hart I thought he had one until I heard Gwin was well gutted . I had a great weekend even with the weather . That road gap takes big balls the lander is really steep . I really wanna ride it think the rock gardens at the top maybe be a bit beyond my ability at the moment though .

Where you staying??
I stayed at 'the loft' in borg st Maurice.
Get yourself up to arc 1600 then on to the cachette (track in them vids) ASAP!
Other than that there are some looong ass dh tracks,
My favourite is to do the cachette, then at the bottom of that you got 'black 8' that's like a fast rocky 10km dh down back into the town!
Do me a favour. Get loads of pics and vids!! MEGA Jealous.. Except for the driving thre and back!
Ps: if you never been before, the amount of ambulances you see carting people off the mountain might put you off, saw about 4 on our first day, but don't let it!
Only other advice I got is,.. Run your brakes biting close to your bars, else you'll get massive hand cramps after your first 5min+ full DH!
Both pics taken about 1/2 way up!

We are going with Trail Addiction, staying at 'the goat shed'. I've never done les arcs, but have done 3 trips to porte du soliel in the past. properly stoked up now, i'll get loads of pics, just hoping my 160mm trail bike will stand up to it all, and i won't regret selling my stab too much
oh, and hoping it stays dry lol
