Default Digital slr purchasing help needed

Hi guys

It's my 30th coming up and the missus has asked me what I would like. Unfortunatley she can't stretch to the breitling I would like so I thought maybe a second hand slr.

However I am currently a compact cam point and click photographer so am not really sure where to start.

Can you please recommend a camera to me and maybe what sort of lenses I should be looking for. My budget is £300.

Thanks

Tim

I had a Nikon 80 when I was starting out on digital SLR.

You should be able to find one with a lens for that price. Good lens would be something like a 18-55 within price range.

I would always recommend going for a Nikon or Cannon. Try to stick to well known camera manufacturers as they tend to make higher quality lens's, plus they have much more addon's available.

That a great price on that lens! Would give a nice range as well.
