I used to also have a golden nuigget pleco which i had for maybe 4 months he suddenly died. Im not sure why as i checked all the levels etc and everything was perfect and no other fish has any problems.
Quite annoyed as it cost me £35 and he wasnt very big at all ffs

Angles will grow fast as long as they have plenty of fresh water, if the water quality is poor they won't grow very well.
Your Angel is a veil tail (long finned) and is also a half black...both the long fins and the black pigment can slow growth as it takes alot of energy to produce them but it will eventually reach full size given good clean water and decent food.
BTW I got the scientific name of the Pleco wrong earlier, I was using the old, outdated name. It's actually Hypostomus Plecostomus...not that anyone here would really care

It's a Boeseman's Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia Boesemani) from Australia. No really special requirements but they do like soft water.

Sorry to pickle your brains but one more quick question
Can you see the shark type fish in the picture with the pleco? What is that?
The reason i ask is because i bought 2 of them a couple months ago and one died by the time i got home. (20) mins max in the car. So i went and got another one a week later and again was dead by the time i go home. The one in the tank that survived is still going strong.
Any ideas?

No, they're quite sensitive in comparison, Plecos are very tough.

Cool i might get another one of those or a Congo Tetra.

That's a Bala Shark, they used to be more often called Silver Sharks. They're quite hardy and you were right to try and get more than one as they prefer that but these things happen.

The bala sharks i have 2 of them and are quite big now. I think apart from the pleco they are my oldest fish.
Ill go get another congo. I used to have 2 but one died months ago, i actually never seen it, it just disappeared lol but they are also about a year old. Maybe even get a couple of them.
What else could you suggest to put into the tank that are community fish?
I tried neon's once as i love when thereis loads of them in a tank, so i got 10 to try and within a week there was only 3 left. Now 2 months on there is one left, and i dunno how he still there if all the other 9 were eaten by the bala shark or something else. This one must be quick or something ha ha.

For the life of me I can't remember what they're called. All I can remember is that they're bloody expensive lol. I'm sure it will come to me at some point.
Personally I would get some Corydoras in there, every community tank should have them.

Everyone meet pop Billy no mates ! Lol, reason he has no mates is because they died with white spot and he's the only one who didn't he must be triple hard don't won't to put anymore in incase they bring another disease into the tank, he's well and fighting fit ! Has been for ages since I completely clean the setup.

To be honest mate i would if i had my say but our lass wont take the risk, hes a cracking gold fish though so cant really blame her, he never stops swimming hes up down left right non stop untill he gets fed.
With him being the only fish in a tank that size am pretty sure he will grow to a good size fish ! does anyone roughly know the size of that tank hes in? cant remeber what it was.
Hayley i want something like that fish of yours but it means getting another tank, but really cant be doing with two ! its hard enough looking after one.

So isnt the tank you have a tropical? i really like my fish but hes a little agressive so i suggest if you like the goldfish type you should get a XL Parrot chiclid theyre like mahoosive goldfish with a funny face .. they are really cool i wanted one but he wasnt compatable with my madagascan Polleni.. but they are cool.. or you could have an oscar but you cant put them with goldfish as they'll munch them.. your tank looks like a 240Litre if not more.. its a nice size.

No its not tropical i used to have tropical fish but the fish i had got to big for it so i gave them to a mate who has a huge tank must be at least 6-7ft long, arnt the parrot fish tropical? seen them in pets at home and your right they look really funny ! that madagascan polleni of yours looks a beast of a fish you'll have to be careful what you put with it, i can see him almost eating anything in sight. watch your fingers
yes parrot chiclid is a tropical fish. Named the Polleni Biggie after notoriuos BIG cos he is quite fat and has huuggee lips..lol he can be a bit if a beast but i think he knows who i am cos i feed him.. i can put my hand in the tank an he'll just swim against my hand.. he wont bite me i dont think or at least i hope.. lol, i swear he can yawn, when it gets late at night he opens his mouth really wide for a couple seconds.. i reckon i could get about 2 or three fingers in its mouth! why dont you have a look at cold water fish there must be some cool ones out there...
