New wheels fitted to my brother's FORD Evo 8 :-)
First off, this isn't about a Ford, so if you're fully Ford blinkered don't read on
This is my brother's Evo 8 MR FQ340, but seeing as a lot of people on here have an Evo, want an Evo, or have owned one, I thought it might interest a few people on here. Plus loads of people know me and my brother so what the hell
Stuck some of my spare wheels on my brother's Evo 8 today - what do you think?
Wheels are 18*9 ET35, Tyres are 235/40/18 Dunlop Direzza D01J Formula-R or some other longwinded name. Fit with no rubbing, and looks a damn sight better than the OE MR wheels he normally runs just due to being 18s rather than pony 17s.
Here's a before pic of the OE Mitsi 17" MR wheels:
And my 18" BBS rims that I lobbed on it a few months ago:
Oh and my 17" Evo 8 wheels:
Think I've got a bit of a wheel fetish going on
Next up I'm going to stick my Bronze 18*9.5 Rota GTRs on it, and the Anthracite 18* 9.5 Rota Torque Drifts on it as well just to see what looks best. Against a red car I think the 3 sets of Rotas are going to be winners :coolsm: Will put pics up tomorrow or whenever it is I do the swap :smthumbup

Nope The pics tell a different story I think
My turbo fell apart on my last session at Castle Combe RSOC Day a couple weeks ago - looks like the bearing cage collapsed, possibly due to high EGTs Got a new GT35 sat in the garage to swap over to, just not got round to it due to fiddling with my brother's car instead

PassionFord Post Whore!!
Those first wheels look really good on it and suit it well, I don't know how many sets of wheels you have but I'm pretty sure you can't beat one of my mates, even he doesn't know how many sets of wheels he has

Si,
I reckon it's time you came back to Cossies... a nice 500bhp 3dr mate, get that ass end out again....
Seriously mate, both cars look superb.....
Edited to say,
Si, are you going to Ford Fair & on track if so mate??

Not going to Ford Fair - a lack of pennies means I can only afford Japfest at Castle Combe and the Castle Combe MLR Day on 21st August. Wanted to do Silverstone again as well, but just not enough time and money
Thanks muchly
I think the original wheels, just in 18" would be perfect. MR wheels are quite popular for non MR Evo owners.
His car has some expensive EXE-TC coilovers, XP10 pads front and rear, and a remap with uprated fuel pump and decat - approx 370 - 380 bhp
Basically very mild mods, exactly the level all Evos should be - not too slow, not too fast. Just right and and reliable with it
