s2 almost ready for next show season added some pics of my new upcoming track toy !!!
ive had my s2 a while now and i wanted to change a few things so i thought id start a thread for it
not a great deal done yet but ive finally got my finger out and sorted my bonnet and new rear bumper all ive done with the bonnet is smooth out the badge and the rear bumper has been smoothed to match the front..
this was it when i bought it
engine looked awful tbh lol
as soon as i got it gave it a good clean and got a few snaps of it the underside had had a resto the previous year with pics and proof so i wasnt too concerned on the underside as it was very clean. came with lots of history and receipts for work done to it, and cost me £2800 which is steep but with the documents i got and how clean it was plus 1 years mot and tax i just wanted, it also done a check on the car found out it had a previous colour change from mercury grey but that was its only secret and im only the 6th owner
interior is also very clean with no rips or tears at all anywere
as i say i aint done too much to it replaced the blanking plug on the dash with 1 - the tacky halfords switch lol i changed the ambers for clears but dont know if i wanna go back to ambers lol as i like the look lol removed the tacky saxo side repeaters and the rs badges and bought some original amber and clear ford square side repeaters as im unsure which i want, replaced the door rubbers interior clock and some other bits n bobs nothing major as yet the big jobs start soon..
most work has been under the bonnet
just cosmetically so far
managed to get hold of a new header tank
painted the heater box , cam belt cover and charge cooler white and had the rocker done red also smoothed the charge cooler too the boost was set at 20 psi when i got it but jacko adjusted that back to 14 as it had an adjustable boost valve fitted
got some roose hoses for the header and the bailey breather system and all new stainless clamps replaced all the vac lines with red samco stuff and give everything a good clean inc all this shite
ordered a few shiny parts to tidy the rest up and this is how it looks now
also bought all new plates nuts and pins for the wheels and got some ford motorsport logos
painted up around the dials inside too as there was some nasty scratches on it just got a ford racing 5" rev counter and shift light a white topped mint escort gti gear knob white leather gaitors and a tim boost gauge to match the others. fitted the white dials and heater dials too
bought some toyo t1-s for the front and falken for the rears and its lowered on koni adjustables.
the new year will see the smoothed bonnet fitted the smoothed rear bumper fitted full blow over to give it a nice shine and im also getting black outer leather and inner red alacantara trim with all door cards done to match, also have all interior plastics booked in for black flocking now which will be done soon new clutch and rachet the gauges and bits fitted inside and a new sunroof if i can find a good un as the rubber is gone on the 1 i have also getting this done to the front bumper
and then hopefully get it in to jackos place for as said the paint and an engine rebuild to see a bit more power from it and maybe 300mm brakes as it only has 2wd saph brakes at mo

cheers boys i have kept the original bumpers ambers the lot so it can be put back to oe spec if wanted all apart from the door and boot locks and bonnet badge lol

love it as is, my own taste would be dont cut bumper out, dont fit a 5inch tacho??? why! you already have one neat and tidy in the dash! and the white interior bit might look too much when the red and black leather is in. too many colours in one space kinda thing

cant put black inserts in the front bumpera s its smoothed and would look shit just havin the insert in the back bumper.
id either fit clear side repeaters to go with the front or change it all amber

twins im going to do the speedo surround black when the dash is flocked mate
also decided against cutting out the front bumper just gonna do the little area below the number plate bar

just got a bargain absoloutley mint 3.0l v6 xr4x4 goes like stink and handles sweet absoloutley mint exterior nice wheels imo unmarked recaros and rs 4 spoke optional steering wheel also mint £1700 93,000 miles mountains of history its a a plate i love it

if it is original,it will b a 2.8 v6 & only rwd,which is still fun lol
i cant make it out but looks like its got disc's on the back,maybe its been converted as its got the late spec sapp dash aswel.
