popped up to gt motorsport where my car is living until last few bits are done, will prob be next couple of weeks before it will be finished.
i started getting rid of any old bits and rubbish out my car then decided to make a start on cleaning the engine up only had a quick wipe over with a microfibre still got to polish the metal bits and clean up the hoses.
also gotta tidy the engine bay up a few things can be got rid of etc.

think there is more than enough bling in there, tbh its an engine its not meant to be good looking etc, as long as it all works as it should then im happy, but i do want to try and de clutter it a bit/make it a bit less fussy

the finishing piece to my car for this year, brand new genuine renault r5gtt headlights courtesy of GtTurbo Spares huge thanks to mike yet again.
on another note my mates heart op went well and the mad swine has been back into work today, so im going see about getting my car in for mot asap then sorting the skirts/paint on door and refitting that one decal after that.

thanks alot fella
its actually not bad at all, of course if it was going to santa pod and being launched hard time after time it would decrease its life span, i do know of guys running these boxes in f7p turbo converted 5gtt's at 300-320bhp and they seem to last (at least renault made something quite robust eh) haha
im really looking forward to getting my car on wgt's hub dyno again as i know for sure its got a bit more poke since the few mods we have made. best thing is i can put a few more psi through her if i want (det/afr's monitored of course)

well my car was meant be going in for mot today, as always with the argumentative little bastard it decided my fuel pump wasnt going to work, so looks like its the relay, hopefully going bridge the wires tomorrow and get it sorted.
#973
thought id just keep anyone interested informed on the fuel pump situation, we tested the relay and even bridged it and still no joy,.
then fount we had no live going to the pump we tried a few things including running a wire from battery to pump which got it working, then traced the wiring in the car to find one of the connection boxes on drivers side.
tested to see what lives we had which we could see one offending green wire which was only lighting up very dim and by chance i noticed when my mate was moving it about it was sending my fuel gauge up and down.
so it looks like we have fount the problem its just a matter of getting it sorted hopefully be able persuade my auto electrician mate pop up to the garage one day and sort it.

bit of an update for you guys
got the fuel pump issue sorted out (bloody electrics) and whilst at it sorted all the wiring for the dash so now everything works as it should.
ill let the next 2 pics do the talking on the main update
over the moon first mot since late 2010 and passed without one single advisory the tester was very impressed with it.
I have just this second sorted 6 months tax for the car online, so alls it is a matter of is finishing the remaining last bits and ill be finally back out boosting

iv wasted no time in getting started, iv was out last night and started doing bits had idle valve out and cleaned it and sprayed wd40 down the hole as gunk can get caught behind it.
iv also swapped over my 1st stage enrichment pressure adjustment screw, preset by Webber when New for T2 turbo! to a modified adjustable one which will allow me to lean the fuelling out off boost without fiddling with smaller 1st stage jet
todays plan will be to clean all the interior and then set idle fuelling up as its currently at 13.5 and ideally i want it at 14.2-14.5.
fridays plan will be to set the off boost fuelling up as its mega rich and my new adjustable 1st stage should help no end with this.

the hard work is still continuing fella
got quite alot done yesterday, i did plenty of little niggly jobs and the set up the idle fuelling and got it exactly how i wanted it, its in fact the best its been since iv owned the car. I also decided to fir my new headlights which required taking the bonnet and front grille off but was more than worth it as they have really made a big improvement.
got a few more jobs to do today and will hopefull have them all done, tonights job is to set the main fuelling up

been having issues with lack of boost/preload on my car
i have got to the bottom of the whole issue, seems like when my mate refitted my turbo he didnt fit the nut that goes on actuator rod hence why there isnt any preload (or is for 2 mins then gone).
case and point yesterday i got it back at just under 20psi for all of about 5 mins then it was 10 then nothing, drove back most way from donington as an n/a c1j, was gutted as there was a mk1 focus rs that wanted to play and at the time i had 8psi boost.
easy fix though and hopefully get it sorted this week sometime and back to 23-24psi
