But as i said at the start back in febuary when i bought it, the plan was always to have a MINT 100% perfect mechanical car but with a tidy but useable body.
The mistake I made with my Series one is i did it so clean you could eat your dinner of the underside, but ended up selling as Id cringe every time i took it out on the road!

Lee your a star cant thank you enough, will get some pic up of the goodies you sent when the cars back home!
Im the mean time..............anyone know where these are "supposed" to go?
Right guys, went to see the car yesterday.
The main guy there spent all weekend with the electrics and they are still having a play this week as and when they get time.
I was really hoping it would be home this week at least, as I still need to fit head lining and bleed the brakes for MOT. But they are really really good at their job and perfectionists so its worth waiting for.
In the mean time
SEE YOU AT FORD FAIR

Dont know yet mate.
Im actually in the process of starting up a restoration business, as ive had soooo many enquiries.
My "new" toy is not really a car I would have automatically gone to look for, but it just sort of turned up, as a mate told me it was selling and the lady was desperate for money.
The aston has an MOT in 2 weeks, and i need to do a few bits to it before then.
The golf is in my work shop as I type, just fitted new wheel bearings, as the drone up to ford fair was finally too much yesterday to take, and also need to fit a cam belt on here and sort the air con out.
My landrover still is waiting for its new headgasket and a good service.
I have my first "official" customer bringing his car to me in about 2 weeks, and its is a fairly major overhaul. Its moonstone is all im saying.
Ive been to see the 16i again to chase the auto electrictian up, starting to get a bit worried now as they havnt really had a chance to touch it, and its been sitting there 3 weeks now. I really really wanted it MOT'd buy now, as I have certain deadlines set for this car, for which reasons will be come clear to you guys soon.... Just frustrating to rebuild it in 3 weeks, then get stuck on the electrics right at the end, and now another 3 weeks down the line, its no further.
Also im flat out running my landscaping business.
I can just see everything happening at once, there may be not even enough hours in a day for me

ITS ALIVE
She is runnig, not completly sorted yet as there is now a problem with the fuel relay, but she is running with a tempoary bridge.
Turns out the twin coils I paid A LOT OF MONEY for and drove half way across the country for from BILLY (if your reading ) who promised my they were in full working order .
Peter the auto electrictian guy reckons he will be done with her buy the end of the week. Hes just got to sort the relay out so it cuts out when it should and then check all the lights horn etc.
THE END IS IN SIGHT:bana na:

Be very carefull as there have been a few latley which are fakes. normally ovals with the split bar welded in. You'll be throwing good money after bad. If your intrested in the car let me know and im happy to check it out for you. I know 1949-1953 beetles better than mk3 escorts
My 49 restored chassis, no engine or interior and bodu in primer needing some welding work still. sold for about £9000 and that was 2 years ago now!!!! just to give you an idea what these cars go for!!!

You wont make any money on a split mate, well not a profit. They are worth 25k restored but youl have to chuck 40 at it!
An original engine (24 bhp) will cost around 10k to do properly
Interior light glass and bakelight frame from 1948 cost me aroung £300 and it didnt even come with a bulb
Pair of knackered unrestored ribbed semaphores (indicator sticks) £450.
My mrs thought I had some sort of coke addiction the amound of cash I was spending

Back home this morning
Bits from Mr reynolds
Well here she is.......running! YOull have to excuse the high idle, i had to turn it up a little to over come some of the vacum lost due to the servo pipe and bits still missing.
To be honest Im really not feeling too good right now,
I drove her out of the gararge, and the clutch seems to be slipping. So im afraid it could be engine out again to change the clutch .
Im really at my whits end now, especially after all thats gone on. Im tempted to say first person to turn you with £2k can take it away and ill even buy them a beer
Really not enjoying the car anymore, getting to the point where id be happy to never see her again, weve been through too much

Its just a case of do I give up now or carry on blind spending more money and time on something I have no passion for at all
Im at home today and will spend all day on her, Ive set my self the target of getting everything done for mot
Its an a4 list
If I can do this then its just the clutch I have to sort out.
I didnt sleep last night, i was ready to drive my landrover over the bonnet
