I had an Alpine CDA-9855R for a few years and it was fantastic

Had the optional box for ipod connectivity, which allowed the ipod to be controlled through the head unit too, as well as charging it at the same time

I recently upgraded this to a dvd unit, which again has ipod connectivity.

Really pleased with both units I've had, so I would definetly recommend Alpine!

I would have stuck with the 9855, however, I wanted to add an Imprint sound processor...so obviously needed an imprint head unit and I've always fancied the novelty of having a dvd unit

How do you find the bluetooth on it, do you know what the clarity is like on the other end and where have you positioned the external mic?

Dunno what the other ipod compatible units are like but i have the Alpine DVD unit as above and you can go through the menus and playlists just like you can on your actual ipod. Always have and always will use alpine

Love it! Music quality from phone is slightly inferior than off a CD but really good none the less! Hardly any difference at all really but there is just that tiny amount. Ringing people and receiving calls is fine too. They can always hear me and 99% of the time I can always hear them. Sometimes it breaks up a bit but if that happens which is very rarely, I just call back and it's crystal clear.

Yeah, they've not made the E20P for about 5 years now though

I thinkt the current equivalent is the E3, but it was out of my price range when my E20P gave up
