Hello everybody
just joined and this is my first post on the forum.
Very short intro before the pics (although if any of you are members on the Detailing World site http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/ , you'll know me already as I'm a regular on there, and also on the pumapeople site). I was also a founder member of the Fiesta Club GB back in '96 and was the club magazine editor for the first few years. Was also a member of the XROC for many years.
Anyway, onto the car - the first one is my 1989 Mk.2 XR2. Had this for 11 years, it's only done 30k from new, never seen rain in the time I've had it, all original paint & panels and has won quite a few concours trophies in its time including back to back 1st places at Ford Fair in 2003 and 2004 and 1st in the XROC National day in the same years as well as some other XROC regional day 1st's.
Some of you guys might recognise or remember it if you went to Ford Fair or Interford in either 2003 or 2004?
Suffice to say, it's a bit of a garage queen and gets SORNed every winter.
Forgot to say, it's all been machine polished since these pics were taken and so is even shinier now and totally swirl free![Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
The second car is my daily driver, a 2000 1.7 Puma. Only had this since April but it's a great handling thing.
Hope you like

Thanks, mate! No completely standard when I got it but owned by a really fussy bloke and so was pretty mint to start with. All mods done by me although now I sometimes wish I'd left it standard and entered standard concours with it, but I was much more into modifying back then than I am now.

Yes must have been one of the last with the propellor wheels (which I prefer to the later ones actually). It's a 2000 on an 'X' plate although it doesn't have the brakelight in the tailgate and it's definitely Pacific.
Not got the PM, mate (might be like Detailing World where until I've got to 10 posts I can't send or recieve them maybe? seems funny being a newbie having a single digit post count when I'm used to being the one of the top posters on DW LOL)
Big thanks to to everyone for the comments

Oh, anyone considering a Puma for a daily driver, then I can't recommend one highly enough (although get the 1.7 with the 'lux pack' like I have

Sounds like a cracker with the condition and the mileage.
That's cause it wasn't for you ![Wink](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
It is one of Ford's best kept little secrets for handling. People call them 'hairdressers cars' and the like, but they tend to be the ones that have never actually gone round some country lanes in anger in one.
Let them keep slagging them off as far as I care, I'm the one that'll leave your fat arsed Sierra for dead round the twistes... and as I've proven round the Nurburgring when the Porsches couldn't keep up in the technical sections ![Pthbbbb](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile045.gif)
(But then mine isn't exactly standard I'll admit
)

). Everything that's said about the handling and slick gearghange etc. is totally right - they're a very chuckable little car!

The XR is on a SORN and tucked away in my carpetted and heated garage over the winter (I know I'm a right tart! LOL!)
You still running the XROC Northern Branch then? I was a member from '97 to about '04 and won all of my regional concours trophies with this car in the early years when Phil Ward was running it. Kind of fell out with the XROC in general tbh. in about 2004 when I was paying the yearly sub and getting nothing whatsoever back for my money. When the car goes back on the road in the early spring, I'd consider re-joining if the club's back on it's feet?

Cheers Brian, but you've seen it before on the FCGB forum ![Wink](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
A brakes and suspension upgrade next on the list to be done in the New Year (Wilwood 4 pots, bigger discs to replace the standard calipers and crossdrilled & grooved discs. SS braided hoses been on car for a while. Not 100% sure on the suspension kit yet though)

The club lost a lot of members around 2004 for the reason you gave and in a lot of ways I don't blame anyone for doing it, its just getting the word round again that the club is a members club run by the members and not a business anymore.
As you were an active member of the branch, you will understand that you only get out of a club what you put into it at the end of the day, but at least now when you pay your money, you will get something in return, initially of course the stickers, keyring, tax disc, etc and also get a quality quarterly magazine, not of course forgetting the back up and support of your branch secretary, or in the Northern branch's case, me and Pete!
If you fancy coming to a meet anyway, even with the XR off the road, Pete's missis Yvonne will like to see your Puma, if she hasn't already, as she's a Pumapeople Pumababe...
