The sky was quite blue in the first place, i was happy the way the sky looked when i arrived at the windmill, but when i got the pics home and on the laptop i much preferred the sky with a bit of an OTT look, so i adjusted the warmth of the photo in photoshop, to make it look a bit 'cooler'.

None are recent, the last one was inspired by Ade from here after he had a 4page spread in practical photography last year i think it was.

Right chaps, i want to get into this and i'm considering this http://www.jessops.com/online.store/...3580/Show.html

But the main question is should i go for it as above with the vibration reduction lense or the f3.5/5.6G one? And what on earth does that mean. I'm going to read up on things but i'm like a kid and just want to get one and try.

Personally I hate panning on a tripod, handheld gives you so much more freedom and great results after a bit of practice.
J1mbo, using auto the camera will have been messing around with the shutter and aperature to achieve optimum exposure, when your panning you want a fixed shutter speed, say 1/125 for example, this way you know exactly how long the shutter will be open for, the camera will then choose the appropiate aperature to suit that speed to give the right exposure. If they turn out dark (if your lense isnt very quick) then you may need to bump the ISO up a touch. If you want to freeze the action, bring the shutter speed to roughly 1/800 and again the camera will take care of the rest, just beware that cars start to look like they are stationary when you use speeds like this. Yours will have been blurred as the camera will have been constantly changing the speed and aperature to suit prevailing light conditions so you will have been moving the goal posts all the time and not been able to get used to it. Practice out of your bedroom window taking pictures of passing traffic, messing around with shutter speed to see the different effects it has on the shots, in the daylight to give the camera its best chance if your lense isnt f2.8 or better. HTH

Thats very good advice for panning, personally i set to shutter priority and et a shutter speed of 1/125 at the very most. It's important to remember to follow through with the shot also, don't just stop when the shot fires. I also take multyple images each time, holding the shutter and firing off anything from 3-5 shots, get more 'keepers' that way.

Very hard car to capture as it's so damn fast!

Nice detail shots fiddy, love doing things like that myself.

Nice vegas shots to, i'm off there for new year, hopefully i'll come back with some good stuff.

Just seen that on FlickR red, very nice capture.

i've been playing around today with trying to smooth skin and tody up a portrait of myself.

Before anyone else gets chance i know i'm not the most photogenic person ever and i could really do with cracking a smile!

Comments welcome please, i spent nearly an hour playing around with it, removing blemishes etc, cloned half my face and flipped it as i'm not naturally symmetrical, then bought the eyes out, healed lips and finished with a spot of dodging/burning.
